smoke grenades in woodsball

typically, do you think refs would allow the use of cool burning, non-pyrotechnic, bio-degradable smoke grenades on woodsball fields??

I do at my field...infact when it is wet enough for them, we light and throw our own home made smoke bombs out.

you would have to ask the field rules of where ever you plan to use them. some fields do,some fields dont.

the field I work not only allows use of smoke grenades that have a pull ring (no fuse or lighter required smoke grenades are a no no) but our pro shop sells them..

the only time the field I work at does not allow use of any smoke grenades is dureing extreamly dry conditions when burn bans are in effect for the area (being in the poconos near lots of state game lands)

We sell the ones with a pullpin (no lighter needed) and they work great. However, they could start a fire on a dry day so we have to keep an eye on the weather. I am a reff, no a firefighter

My field allows them as long as they don't burn. When a player throws one, I just keep an eye on it

Ive seen some pretty odd smoke grenades. I bought a few also in pennsylvania at a fireworks store for like 50 cents each and smell really bad. I recommend the ones that are in a cylinder and you light. The are more expensive but they work really well
