Iím beating a dead horse here. Again, HIGH INFECTION RATE, low fatality rate.

Also sweden never locked down, no closures and they had the same death and infection rates. Thereís no proof these lockdowns did anything, thereís only proof that it made the infection rates higher. 66% of Aprilís infections came from....people who hadnít left their houses since March.
Simply not true. Sweden's per capita death rate is nearly 4X Denmark's, 7X Finland's, and 8X Norway's. For reference, our death rate is about 3X Denmark's, 5X Finland's, and 6X Norway's. Bear in mind that's on top of Denmark and Finland in particular having older populations than America. The relatively low effectiveness of the US lockdowns vs. other countries is largely because they came about a month too late, not because they don't work in general.

Here is the raw data out of Sweden.

The shutdown was not done to lessen death and infection but to take burden off of healthcare.

Just spitballing here but if infection and death are lessened does that not take the burden of healthcare?

Flatten the curve campaign was to take a massive burden off of healthcare by spreading the infections and deaths out over a longer period of time. instead of ripping the band aid off, the band aid was teased off over a longer time.

The flatten the curve campaign, or shutdown, lockdown, whatever you want to call it, did not decrease anything, just lengthened out the pain.

Any chance we could maybe leave politics out of this? Thanks guys.

Would have loved to have made it there before they closed. There's an awful lot of good fields out there within a semi-reasonable driving distance to a lot of us. I know I've fallen into the rut (I suppose?) of hitting the same field or two on the regular. There's a drive to any field around here. It's not that big a stretch to drive a different direction and spread it around a little better. Something to consider.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
