I'm around the Orlando area and I've gone out with a group called Magfed Florida a few times. They have a facebook group and organize fun games around the state, so if you're still looking I'd check them out.
Depending on how far "South" and/or your penchant for camping there is a Scenario game this weekend up in Orlando that might be a good opportunity to meet folks:
