Will there be a 2020 NXL Paintball World Cup? Vote in the POLL

Do you think there will be a 2020 NXL World Cup?

Why or why not? If you think it will be limited, in what way? No spectators? No vendors? Only pro teams? 1 on 1 championship?

So nothing? No smaller event? Just a "come back in 2021ish"?

I think it's going to limited to pro & semi-pro only. JMHO. Those 2 divisions since there's a bit more at stake, so-to-speak (sponsorship funding). It may only be pro only though. I think that if it's opened to fans, social distancing goes out the window and 1/2 wouldn't wear masks (not that the masks we're wearing do anything anyways). It's tough to see Cup happening outside the pro and/or semi divisions right now. But it's only late July & there are basically 3 months before the event & as we've already seen, anything can happen. It's so fluid right now, who knows what the next hour will bring!

If the US cannot get their butts in line and take care of this garbage there will be no NXL next year either...

Most likely not . Things if anything will be close to 100% back to normal .I can see a smaller pro event , similar to the bubble that the NBA is doing . Hopefully something can be done to make something happen . Maybe check out a totally different venue maybe something more north seeing how things seem a little better .

I think it will happen with Pro and Semi Pro only...Perhaps (dare I say it)a change of not just venues..but state too?

I've been on and off playing for over 15 years. This was my first planned trip to world cup always wanted to go. I had flight/vacation booked and hotel paid for with the wife for the entire event. Had to cancel it because of COVID.

I still hope the pro bracket can battle it out if nothing else

I’m gonna guess yes but in a limited way. Florida seems to be taking a beating right now with the spike in cases, so take it somewhere else. How’s the weather in Texas in November? Pro and semi pro only event makes sense as well.

Thumbs down Nope

Nope.

Because they dont have the finances to pull off the amount multiple layers of covid testing and personnel needed to monitor the quarantines etc like the UFC has done, an absolute army of people.

Plus one positive test can wipe a whole team out.

Trust me, they have thought about all this.

I feel really confident that WC will happen in some form. We have the site booked for 2 weekends in case we need to split the event up. The general rule is 50 people per acre. We have 52 acres that is 2600 players at a time. So we may do a true morning and afternoon session with players required to leave after they are done playing. That is worse case scenario. Keep in mind we are right next to Disney and they are open for business. We can not predict the future but we can hope that by Nov we are in a better place. I think it is important for Tournament paintball that WC happens

Thanks. I knew you were committed to running World Cup. I just keep wondering who else thinks you can pull it off. So did you vote "yes but..." because I still don't see any straight "yes" votes.

If somehow they do, I highly doubt most of the companies are going to pay to come out and set up a booth. Foot traffic will be dead, especially if they limit to just players. Not to mention if teams from out of the country can even attend.

its sad to look around and see so much suffering and so much lost all because our leaders refuse to take this deadly serious threat as much more then some supposed political hoax. Even while bodies pile up outside of hospitals and mortuaries in refrigerated shipping containers. there are so many americans who act too arrogantly , ignorantly and SELFISHLY to the point of putting ALL OF US AND OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY AT RISK.It is for these reasons the country will continue on this outrageous and out of control trajectory with CV19 and thus forcing the NXL and many many other leagues to cancel there events. the death of Tim Montressor should be a huge red flag to all of you non beleivers out there. He deserved so much better then to die at the hands of CV 19. ps dont spell check my **** because i dont give a F

  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
