I love the Etha 2 but its trigger although not bad isn't a higher end magnet trigger.

I went to work and make a few prototypes and now have a working model that I'd like to share with you all. This will be a light much easier to use trigger. It's as easy as pulling out the factory spring and pressing the 3d printed tpu part in till it stops. Next you just back the tension set screw out to where it's flush or recessed just a touch, put a tiny drop of super glue on the set screw and the magnet will hold to the set screw it self (the glue keeps it from moving from dives, impact or the opposing magnet pushing it) I suggest placing the magnet on the trigger without glue first to make sure you have it correct and not attracting to the other. If it's right mark the outward facing side than glue it on. I will be offering these for $10 for the 3d part and the two magnets required, all you need is a dab of super glue. ** New kit will include a light medium and heavy trigger back for customizable trigger weight for $18 w/ free shipping in USA.
Now it's best to purchase on eBay, it helps monitor your orders and offers built in international shipping.

Here is a video showing it off briefly torn down to show it best.

What size magnets are you using? Would you make different sized inserts so people could install larger or smaller magnets for a heavier or softer return strength?

Would you consider releasing the 3D print files? Shipping from the US to Australia would be stupid expensive, but I could get them printed locally for fairly cheap.

I've sent you a pm... But for the others this is using 4mm as shown. I have designed a 5mm 3d part that will be included with each kit ordered. The 5mm magnet adapter will come WITHOUT a magnet for now as it will be a few weeks before mine arrive. This 5mm adapter will give a heavier trigger feel. I can design a 6mm magnet version as well but for my liking the 4mm is ideal.
The trigger magnet will need to stay 4mm for clearance.

As per all the requests I've made a quick shooting video showing off the kit with the lighter 4mm magnet installed. This is my favorite setup.
https://youtu.be/JjdZI5a8LQU

I did receive some 6.3mm X 3mm so all kits ordered will now come with the 4mm 3d part with magnet, 5mm 3d part without the magnet and 6.3mm part with magnet.

Thanks, Jesse

I’m newer to paintball, and this is only my 2nd marker. Would someone please explain why this is a good thing? I mean, obviously getting a compliment from PE is a pretty big sign it’s a legit mod, I just don’t understand the advantage over the existing build. Thanks!

In short... Responsiveness/faster complete reset w/ lighter trigger (for lack of how to describe it better), reduced or eliminated trigger bounce, resistance curve.

Resistance curve by type:

Spring = Linear feel
Repel magnet (This mod)= Increase the more the trigger is pulled.
Attract = Higher resistance at start of trigger pull with a break away feel

Looks like a great mod, well done! I will be getting my Etha 2 in the next week or two and will definitely consider this. One thing I wanted to confirm with Mr. Woods is would doing this mod effect warranty?

I only ask not because I think it will cause any problems but because in general across all industries some companies are more sensitive than others if a product was modified in any way (I have no knowledge of PE policy) . And while I am familiar with the magnuson moss warranty act "IF" P.E. is sensitive to this I would buy it now and wait until after my warranty period to install it.

BTW Jesse if Mr. Woods confirms this would not effect warranty I will take one with both a 4 and 5mm insert.

We try and use common sense. If you install a mod and then need to make a warranty claim against an unrelated part, there should be no issue. If you install a trigger mod, then try to claim for a new trigger because you damaged the trigger threads, then clearly we aren't going to cover it.

Jack

Perfect.... I was more concerned with a faulty solenoid being declined because of the proximity of the magnet or a bad board getting declined because the marker was modified. I am glad to hear your response.

I commented on the YouTube installation video but I'll post here also. I installed the mod this morning and it feels fantastic! I recommend it to anyone looking to tweak the trigger more to their liking. I think the 4mm magnet is great. Debating on trying the other sizes. Has anyone tried the other magnets?
