What is the process involved with converting a LP reg into a HP reg? And what is the difference in the parts other than the chrome bonnet ring vs. the black ring? I have one of each and want to make sure I have said parts on each tank.

The ring is there so you can easily distinguish between LP and HP. The HP is a silver lock ring and a LP is a black lock ring. As well as the lock ring your piston is marked the same way HP is silver and LP is black.

As far as the process its easy to do, they are set up the same way, the springs are stacked the same way all that changes are the lock ring and the piston.

To change from LP to HP follow these steps

Step 1. Remove the two set screws on either side of the tank reg

Step 2. Use a 15/16 socket to remove the lock ring and counter clock wise until the top can be removed.

Step 3. Remove the piston and springs from the reg, switch out the piston for the one you want in there (HP Or LP), be sure also replace the lock ring as well.

Step 4. when placing the spring back onto the piston be sure to place them in the proper configuration as shown in pic

apply some dow 55 to the o-ring on piston as well.

Step 5. Be sure the valve pin is placed back into the reg top, screw it back into the reg (wouldn't hurt to add a drop of blue locktite before screwing back in) and reverse the process from step 2.

I hear many users who own the CP tank regulators talk about removing the filter under the fill nipple so their tank fills faster. Does CP advise against this? If not, whats the correct method in removing said filter?

Yes it is not advised. While the filter is necessarily needed, it is there do exactly what its name for filter out any debris, keep it out of your tank and your gun, cause as it can go into the tank it can then shoot it into your marker causing you to clean your maker more often. You'd be surprised at how dirty a filter can get and how much it actually keeps out of your tank/marker.

As for the removal all you need to do is give it a tap and it should fall out. If you can't get it that way you can take off the gauge on the other side and put a small allen key (or other small poker of some sort) through the hole and push it out from the backside.

I'm assuming you mean where the fill nipple, gauge, etc... lines up, but there isn't a way, sorry.

You COULD buy a Myth G2... they have the only reg I'm aware of currently that is adjustable in such a way... but then you give up the quality that is a CP REG!

True true, If you wanted you can switch the position of the gauge and the fill nipple, other than that that's the only parts that are interchangeable

Have you looked over each o-ring to check for any knicks (including the #010 in the center piece)

As well as re lubed all the o-rings using dow 55?

Also check the top of the piston (the skinny part that goes through the center piece) and make sure there are no knick's or ding's as if that gets damaged it won't seal properly.

Most common problem for this is the Reg Seat Assembly needs to be replaced, It's pretty simple to do. If you want I can send you a replacement or you can send your tank to us and we can replace/rebuild your reg. If you want me to send you one then PM me your address and I'll be happy to get that out to you.

My 68/45 tank is leaking somewhere within the tank, a ref told me there was a burst old ring inside, do you know what is wrong?
It leaks all the way down slowly. It would take 30+ minutes to go from 3000 psi to 0.

Is it possibly I can ship it to you and you guys can do the fixing? Also, how do I just ship it Medium Flat Rate Priority or do you guys send me a shipping label?

Or is it an easy enough job to do?

With out knowing the point of the leak I can't tell you exactly what is wrong, If you were to fill it up and place the reg in a glass of water and tell me where the leak was coming from I could do a better job of telling you exactly what was wrong.

If you want to send it to me to fix that's fine as well, the only cost to you would be the shipping to me. From there I'd completely rebuild your reg and send it back to you.

I saw you PM'd me so I'll reply to that as well.
