A couple fields in north Florida never closed so I still got to play during the “lockdown”. Bayside where I normally play did, but they just opened back up last weekend.

I don’t foresee any long term changes to the way fields operate being necessary. I’ve noticed several tournaments scheduled to be played this month, so it should be business as usual moving forward for a lot of the country soon enough.

Annandale Paintball in Minnesota is open with some restrictions, namely you have to sit at your own table with your group, if you are in a mixed group you must start on the back line on designated spots and maintain your distance the whole time ie no doubling-up bunkers, the staff are the only ones allowed to touch the fill station, and all rentals are sanitized after use and will not be used again for at least 72 hours. I think there is a limit to the number of people allowed there at a time as well as some other stipulations I am forgetting.

I was able to get 4 people who had never played before to come out just because they were bored and they all had a good time.

Fine, if those are not obvious enough of weak points in this social distancing thing for you; How about fill stations, paying at the cash register, touching/rubbing up against bunkers seconds after each other? I'm not weighing in on a side here but to call someone else dumb*for legitimate concerns is pretty stupid in itself, no?

The whole point of the lock down, aka 'flattening the curve', was to slow the spread and prevent spikes of cases that could overwhelm health care systems, not necessarily to save lives.(If the system became overwhelmed then more people could die). Everything will eventually reopen and the same risks will apply until a vaccine is readily available or herd immunization lowers the risk. If you or someone you live with is vulnerable then I don't blame you for staying home but it's going to be 12-24mos before the risk is significantly lower. I mean, great someone is manning the air station but all it takes is one kid to accidentally sneeze in that direction. There's still a lot we don't know about the virus, I personally think I got it 2 yrs ago. However, we do know it transmits very easily though breathe, coughing, sneezing - social distancing and covering your face are easy precautions to take but if you're worried about contracting corona from any and every surface you touch then stay home. I have to agree with lawf though, worrying about rubbing up against a bunker someone else touched made me chuckle, especially since your whole body is typically covered up.

Don’t wait for the fields or the government to keep you safe from this virus. I don’t blame anyone for staying off the field to avoid getting sick but I have a big problem with people telling me how to stay safe. Everyone that leaves decides to play paintball made that choice and has assumed that risk

Sure dude, and god forbid you get sick thank goodness you and/or everyone with that attitude can rely on the endless resources and man power we have in our medical system. It's a tough/go subject, I get that. I've got teammates that will be on the field this weekend somewhere or another. I will not.

Outlaw paintball outside Austin Tx is going to be open, So is Extreme paintball in Austin I believe.

I've decided that until proper antibody testing happens, I'm not playing paintball. Indiana is being really dumb. In a month or two, we'll have to shut everything down again because nobody took this seriously after 2 weeks of it.

Local fields tried to open on May 1. Currently they say that they will/can open on June 1. Local Polititcians fail to speak clear words. So everybody is overcautios & fees are high if you do something that isnt allowed. (theoretically up to 3600€ if you are caught not holding your distance to others).

Local fields here are still closed. Likely to be a few more weeks until we can play again.

Just seen more illinois (chicago area) fields are planning on opening. Hopefully all fields open back up soon.

hey guess what? its this simple.

If you feel sick, don't go paintballing right now. If you get sick easy, don't go paintballing right now. If you do go paintballing, dont have someone breath in your mouth.

This isn't as crazy as its made out to be.

Our field is opening, practicing safe distancing, wiping everything down after use. but we are kinda stuck on one situation. How are people going about filling tanks? Don't want players to repeatedly touch the fill stations at the same time if we have a staff member fill them they are going to be touching everyone's markers and would be within that 6 foot window when handing them the marker. Any suggestions?

I would love to live in a wold that simple. Your advice assumes Covid-19 does not spread pre-symptomatically or asymptomatically. Pre-symptomatic transmission has been documented.

https://www.who.int/docs/default-sou...es%20available.

I'm not a doctor and don't claim to play one on Internet forums, but along with not breathing in one another's mouths... Try to wear gloves, not wipe sweat off your face, use self serve air stations, and hope everyone is wearing a mask in the staging area.

But maybe you're in a scenario different than me, maybe your area is following CDC guidelines and has seen 14 days of declining cases of Covid-19....

Put a box of those plastic gloves lunchladys use, keep it at the fill station and a aerosol can of disinfectant there . Charge everybody an extra dollar to get in to offset the cost if it’s a big deal, I know I would pay it
