Your choice of a small to medium sized SUV with all weather floor mats and all wheel drive.
If you're driving to an event, you're likely to have a good amount of gear. That gear may include playing gear as well as "casual" gear, and overnight kit. That might be camping gear, it might be what you'll wear after hours or around town. You may be travelling with a teammate or two, so you'll want room for their stuff, too. On the way home, a lot of that gear is going to be less than car interior friendly, and so will whatever footwear you have left. That'd be the reason for the mats. And large garbage bags to containerize whatever is going to be taken to the commercial laundry when you get home (yuck).
Add to that, parking areas at paintball venues can get a little muddy. By a little, I mean you can't be surprised by ankle-deep mud. Getting stuck in parking, camping, staging, on the approach roads is no fun. AWD can get you out of some of that trouble, but it's not a cure-all.
AND, finally, most small to mid-size SUV's are reasonably fuel efficient. We paintball players tend to spend our bucks on... paintball! Having to spend a fortune in fuel sucks, so getting their on a gas budget is smart.

Its technically a hovercraft so you can also use it on the scenario field for water landings.

GOOD CHOICE!
But what he really needs is a good old fashioned Doomsday vehicle.
