Hello Guys and Gals...

I wanted to take this time to post and bring some clarity to the direction we are going with the MWXL for the 2016 season.

Our Team:

For those that don’t know me, my name is Janssen W. Spain, (known too most as “Big Black”) and I am the Event Coordinator for the MWXL series and Head of MWXL Media relations (i.e. Facebook, PBNation and now Instagram and coming soon… SNAPCHAT!). When you post here, or on any of the other media outlets, nine times out of ten, it will be me responding. Feel free to message me directly with any questions, suggestions, comments or concerns you may have.

Mike Bruno: Head of Operations

Mike will be our point person, in making sure everything stays up and running during events (i.e. Air Compressor, Fill Stations, Fields etc.) and will work closely with myself and other staff, to insure everything runs smooth and with few interruptions.

Nucci: Head Ref.

Nucci will be responsible for ALL THINGS REFFING. He will insure that we always have 6 competent refs on the field at all times and will be the end all be all on final decisions involving discrepancies on the field.

Format:

Because this is an official NXL Affiliate series, everything we do as far as how we run it, specifically as it pertains to format, needs to be inline with the NXL. Teams will be earning National event points so; there is very little wiggle room as to how much we deviate from their structure.

The format this season will be D3 & D4 5man. Now, I realize not everyone is a fan but it's the most cost affective way for teams to be able to compete in a tournament environment, while still keeping us inline with the NXL. Now with that said, there is still room for us to make tweaks here and there to insure that, the event runs smooth and as quickly as possible, with the least amount of down time for teams as possible. One thought is, combining the 5man format with the millennium style so; we always have 2 teams ready to play on the field at all times.

Please understand, this by no means we are saying we are against the Xball format. However, past efforts have proven that, while most would rather play Xball, the money isn’t always there. Now, if there is a genuine interest, we have no problem running it. However, at least for the first event, we will keep it status quo.

Questions:
1) How many points will we run in d3 since there are only 6/7 teams signed up?
2) Why can't we run rt2 instead?
3) series prize is it best out of 5 events? It would be nice if it was best of 4 so a team could miss one event.
4) If we do presale paint do we get that same cost at the event or do we have to pay 55? Is mwxl byop still?
5) Is there a series entry to save us money?

I realize this is a NXL affiliate league, but you should still be able to have rt2 and not a round robin!

I know it's probably to short of notice, but maybe for the 2nd event would it be possible to add a D5-3Man division?? I hope the idea is contemplated, I think there is a great opportunity to expand the MWXL for the beginner teams. Thanks for your consideration, good luck to the Badlandz and MWXL this season!

Hey Bud, sorry for the late response... All very good questions and I hope , this sheds some light and answers all of them.

1. I've sent Joe at APPA the questions regarding D3 and the number of teams. Once i have an answer, I will post it up for everyone, as it is a good question.

2. Because, The NXL does not run RT2. Remember, teams are earning national points at these events. To do so, our format needs to be inline with them.

3. You are correct... it is the best of 5. Best of 4 is something to think about.

4. Correct!

5. 10% Discount, if you pay for the series in full.

I feel you man.. we love the RT2 format. However, local events like the MWXL are gateways to National events. Keeping affiliate leagues in line with the national series, gives teams a taste of what to expect at the national level. As of right now, the format is still 5man. If for some reason that can and is changed, I will be sure let everyone know.

If this is the case, will we be able to purchase a NXL ID through the MWXL? To purchase a NXL ID through APPA you have to pick up the ID at the next NXL event, they don't mail them out. Definitely need some clarification on this.

Listen guys,

Because thus is an NXL Affiliate League, The NXL Player Registration is required. There are two options available.

1. NXL Registration - Which covers you for both National and Local Affiliate Events. (ID is picked up at the next NXL National event you attend. )

2. Affiliate - Which ONLY covers you for Local Affiliate events. (No ID Handed Out)

Now with that being, we are hearing that some players are having issues with reagards to getting the registration paid (Not showing as paid after payment has been made, error messages not allowing players to actually pay). We are currently working on it and will be posting up shortly with an update.

On APPA under Player Reg Fees, "NXL Partner Program" is the affiliate ID, correct?
