Bought a used Hero 1 reg that came with 3 different springs. How do I identify what pressure range each spring is? I believe the red is stock 800psi. The springs came in an LP kit package so one should be an LP springs.

appreciate any help identifying. Thanks

Measuring length would be easiest, but as follows:
Red is stock
Plain one with ground ends should be high pressure
Plain one with unground ends should be low pressure
I’m doing this all from memory...if you can provide lengths, I can identify them.

Had the 1.8k burst disc blow yesterday on one of our tanks as I was degassing the gun and taking the tank off. I have never had one on a HPA tank blow before. I know they are easily replaceable but before I replaced it I was wondering what would cause that and if the tank reg might need rebuilt before replacing it? I don't want to replace it to just have another one blow.

generally i let the first one go, replace it and see if it was a fluke or if the reg seat is actually bad the new one will go to then. if you had a reg tester you could test it and see.

Thanks. I kinda thought about that but after the first one blew I don't have a way to put air in and check until the next time we get to a field so I would hate to replace it and then get to the field and it is shot. In all the years I have played I have never had one on a HPA tank go and the timing of it was weird. Right when we were packing up and I was degassing the gun and started unscrewing the tank. Me and my son both play and we don't even use that tank. It's our backup to our backup but we had a new girl using it the last couple weeks. Saturday was her second time playing and she still doesn't have all her gear yet. I have an extra burst disc though so I guess I will put it in and hope for the best.

Check your reg piston face if it is dented. Severe case pictured.

[IMG][/IMG]

If it is dented spare your burst disc, it will blow sooner or later as the damage on the piston face will become worse.

You could try to replace the piston (and maybe end like me) --> I went trough 4 pistons including a service from a certified dealer/tech till i finally swapped my reg.

I got a rebuild kit on the way. How hard is it to get the reg out of the tank? I know some companies on the old tanks loctited them in there and there were terrible. lol

The reg itself isnīt loctited, just torqued down.

But there is no need to unscrew the whole reg from the tank. Just put a fitting allen key into the top (press down the pin) and unscrew the bonnet/flange (Part 2) --> https://first-strike.com/content/Fir...nual-final.pdf

Clean out the inside with a q-tip, put the new parts in, reagrease with dow 33 and you are done.

Ok I was hoping it didn't have to come out. I know the older tanks adjust position of the reg gauge/fill nipple like that but didn't know if you could get everything out of the reg with that. Thanks.

Will the pistons from a g2/g3 work in the hero2 regular?

G3 and hero/2 are compatible, I don’t think g2 is.

The myth regs had a different piston. G3, hero, hero 2 all have the same piston
