2 week stop gap funding bill passed the day before shutdown. Next potential shutdown Dec 22nd.

Still need to pass tax reform (if still being done via budget reconciliation) and agree to a large number of issues

We will see

Will PAYGO be waived?
(info on paygo here: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/briefing-book/what-paygo)

Will there be a stop gap measure? how long?

is there 60 votes for a stopgap measure? waiving paygo?

What about all those promises made about DACA/DREAM, CSR's, and APTC funding?

When will we start hearing complaints about the deficit from republicans?

will there be a shut down?

Will federal employees get a nice long unpaid holiday break while congress gets paid?

Will I be able to climb in Yosemite on New Years?

Find out answers to all these questions and more in the next 60 hours.

under 12 hours to go......

As someone on the left/moderate side of politics but with a deeply personal interest in DACA, The immigration debate didn't involve democrats, it seemed like it was entirely a debate among republican factions. Trump seemed to sabotage any agreement that might have been made over the last two weeks.

Then the CHIP changes on a CR are interesting

not that anyone else reads this, but its sounding like there might not be an agreement in place by the 23rd.

Yay, another shut down, a massively increased deficit, and the worst week for the markets in 10 years.

Republicans in control of the all branches of government is really working out well. So much fiscal responsibility. /s

What happened you guys? Can’t comment anymore? Finally realize you were ****ing idiots all along?

Yeah. Dangerous times. Think the forum has a tiny heartbeat. I keep coming back for the government official comments. They tend to balance my views out.

I heard most of the tariffs kickoff early next year.

Attacking people, not their ideas? Very cerebral, 10/10 will convert people, super winning. /s
I’ve attacked their ideas for over a decade. Provided hundreds of links and corrections.

I’m ****ing done trying to have arguments with partisan ****s that refuse to read a single piece of economic literature. People like slate and AEIOU are ****ing idiots. They cheered for these retarded *** policies for the last decade and yet when they finally get implemented and the markets ****ing crash I’m not allowed to say I told them so?

Or are you one of the idiots that voted for “tariff man”, cheered on the tax cuts that did nothing but increase corporate debt and tank the bond markets, and generally support the president with the worst fiscal policy in over a century while still pretending your “fiscally responsible”.

I can’t believe them. Whenteeasury secretary munchin is holding emergency liquidity conference calls with the largest banks and trump spends the day berating the federal reserve days before even more tariffs kick in and the government is shut down, I worry.

Some political spitballing for anyone who needs a break from coffin shopping after reading Subterfuge's last post...

As this partial shutdown rolls into a month I'm finding myself blaming Mitch McConnell more than Trump or the House.

My logic being the president wants a wall. I don't understand the reasoning but he's the president, more power to you. By all means, waste time on this.

The House does not want a wall. This logic I get a bit more especially when they separate wall from border security. The House has passed several bills relating to this position. As far as I'm concerned that's their constitutional prerogative.

What annoys me is McConnell leaving these bills DOA in the senate. Instead of trying to flesh out an amended bill that can pass in the Senate (Yes, they need some D votes) and trying to work with the house on a compromise in committee he just wants to point to Trump and say, "this guy wears the pants."

Politically, I see the calculus. Mitch has an election in less than 2 years and needs to be lock-step with Trump to avoid a strong primary challenge like he had last time... This notion of just bringing up bills Trump says he'll sign (until he changes his mind and doesn't) undermines the power of the Senate and how our government is supposed to work.

Pre-Emptive: BUT WHAT ABOUT ...
Yes, I may be living in a fantasy world where I both believe elected officials have a constitutional obligation to do their job and will do it to the best of their ability

Yes, Either the house or president could compromise. I'd argue the Senate was created to help break dead locks like the one we see now.

Yes, you're right... and I love you.

I didn't mean to invalidate your feelings... Just trying to joke around. I think in a lot of ways you're right. For an age where news can spread with near instantaneous action through a tweet. There still feels like a huge disconnect between what we see vs what's really going on in many other parts of the world.

I am a man, I require feedback. Do not apologize for correcting me. You pointed out something in my post that I totally agreed with.

Yeah buzzfeed's recent news on Trump was said to be inaccurate by Mueller. I almost felt like posting that ****. Good thing I ran out of time.

Just imagine sucking your own dick until it felt like, so good man, it felt just so right, and then at that very moment where everything built up inside of you is about to release in a constant stream (well, a short-lived "constant stream", but you get the idea), you realize that you are a white male and therefor that very load you are about to blow, that very moment of ecstasy and euphoria, is immediately downplayed to the point of where cumming on your own face sounds depressing rather than exciting.

Just ****ing imagine that scenario. Watch those flashbacks in your mind every single day, and remind yourself, that there is nothing wrong with being gay, but there is something wrong about being white. Tell me how that plagues you? Have the lambs stopped screaming Clarice? Have they?
