What Do You Mention In Your Safety Speeches?

For myself:

- Barrel covers on in safe area
- Masks down on the field
- No picking paint up on the ground
- I tell them about our fields
- Show them entrances to get on the fields
- Tell them a bit about their markers
- Tell them the 3 strike rule, 1st is a warning, 2nd is a 2 game suspension, 3rd is ejection.
- Tell them prices on extra products that they may need such as another bag or drinks.

What I say for NPPL Field 1 Team Schpleel is as follows.

"Ok players, straight to business, just to recap when you get hit please say "hit" or "out" or something of the sort, if you want to argue, you're bringing a friend with with you, if you curse, you'll be eliminated, and if you step out of the deadbox before being told to do so, you'll be given a 3 game suspension. Any questions?"

Hits the major NPPL basics which are usually forgotten, players should know the rule book and it's rules before they even hit the field.

all that and blindfiring. oh yeah, we only have a 2 strike rule at our field. most people get it after the first time, but we have had the rare occasion where someone does it twice.

Here's the one from Tori at PSI in Tampa.

DISCLAIMER
This set of rules is not a comprehensive list of safety rules and guidelines for the use and ownership of Paintball Markers. This list is intended to assist the Owner and User in understanding the amount of responsibility that goes with owning one of these products. There is no substitute for common sense and discretion when utilizing one of these products.

1. EYE PROTECTION

Approved goggles must be worn and kept in place at all times while the players are on the playing field
or chrono area.
If your goggles are knocked off during the games, cover your eyes with both hands, and call for a referee.
If a player removes their goggles while on the playing field, the referee will issue a safety warning.

2. OPERATION OF PAINTBALL MARKER

All Markers will be chrono at 260 FPS
Markers may only be fired on the field or at the chrono area. No shooting in safe area
No Blind Firing – You must looking in the direction you are shooting.
Do not shoot up in the air or shoot at lights, buildings or cars.
Excessive multiple “HIT” by one shooter upon one player will not be tolerated.
(This applies to “HITS”, not the number of shot fired)
Players should avoid shooting at range closer then 10 feet.
Barrel socks on and markers decocked before the player is completely off the playing field.
(Referee will issue a warning for failure to comply)

3. ELIMINATION

A player is eliminated from the game when a paintball breaks and leaves a paint mark at least quarter
size or large anywhere on the player or the player’s equipment.
Splatter rule is not enforced (This means splatter from paintballs breaking on the bunker and the splattering on you do not count as a hit)

4. ACTION TO BE TAKEN WHEN ELIMINATED

Loudly call “HIT!”. Once eliminated, the player must exit the game.
Eliminated players may not talk to live players.
Players may remove themselves from the game at any time by calling “HIT!”.

5. REFEREE

The referee has the right to go anywhere on the playing field, players must yield to the referees.
The referee has precedence; all decisions made by the referee are final. Do not argue with the referee.
A referee may eject any player from the field for poor sportsmanship or interfering with the referee.

6. PLAYER CONDUCT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Absolutely no physical contact or foul language will be tolerated at any time.
Consumption of alcohol or use of drugs will be strictly prohibited at PSI xtreme Sports.

7. SURRENDER RULE

Surrender is optional a player does not have to surrender they may chose to shot it out .
We advise you to surrender.

POOR SPORTSMANSHIP OR THE INABILITY TO FOLLOW RULES WILL RESULT
IN YOU BEING REMOVED FROM THE FIELD.

We have an emergency call in case they are seriously hurt or their mask falls off. I've seen it used a couple times over the years. Also tell people if their masks fall off to cover their eyes with their arm.

Heres ours...
Two main rules to remember
- Masks down before walking onto field and not to be taken off until off the field.
- Barrel covers on before walking off the field. Only to be taken off on field.
**1st offense for not following the two main rules will be a warning and we may sit the player out for a game or two. On 2nd offense we will not allow the player back on the field for the day.

- Blind-firing. "90% of the time you're wasting paint, the other 10% your shooting a ref or your own teammate in the back of their head from five feet away."
- No off-field paint for safety reasons, if using paint you bought from us on a previous trip let a ref check it first.
- If paint falls on the ground, leave it. "When you take our gun to the gun tech when it jams and we find dirt, twigs, and two small squirrels inside your hopper, you can sit out of the game and wait on us to fix your gun."
- How to paintcheck someone and/or yourself.
- How to call a hit on yourself. (Raise gun, call hit.)
- Refs are ALWAYS right. "Our refs are really Safety Coordinators and Entertainment Specialists. They're here to keep you safe, don't argue with them on the field."
- Bunker rule (10 feet). We generally only do one when younger ballers are playing. It's optional for groups of adults.
- "When you're going from point A to point B, know whats between point A and point B. When you're in a full sprint, not paying attention to where you are going, and wrap yourself around a tree, we will point and laugh because we've all done it before."
- "Guns on the ground". In the event of an emergency, injured player, or whatever else, we may yell "Guns on the ground." This means drop your gun, take two steps away from it, and wait for further instructions. This is generally the fastest way for us to make a field "safe" should something happen.

I think that about covers it.

I'll tell them what'll happen if they take their mask off, and I won't sugar coat it. Sorry but I'd rather be known as an ******* then be responsible for someone losing an eye.
