Sorry, I got frustrated. And no, it probably is not right... I apologize. I am not a dick to customers by any means. I just get fed up by people who always go "I Know.. trust me.. I know"

Those are the people who mess with the sport and industry I love so much. I dont go off very often. But when people think they know based on little knowledge they have really pisses me off.

It is a lot bigger than when I started also, but on the other hand it is much much smaller over the last few years and that is a trend that is not going to stop in the foreseeable future.

Somebodies got to put people who think making anything quality is easy and that it should be sold at raw material costs in their place. The world doesn't work like, paintball shouldn't either, but it's what happens when the demographics dip into the teens and self entitlement takes hold.

So, based on $6000 profit.

$980 goes to the tax board based on 7%
$3,000 goes to the owner for his pay.. $36,000 a year is not huge by any means.
$1500 for store
$500 in utilities and insurance...

Already at $6000. And there are even more. Paintball stores do NOT make a lot of money by any means. If there are more players, then they make more. More players will drive down the cost. Do I think paintball stores and fields "rape" customers? No. They are trying to make a living off what they love. I know so many friends that own stores that have closed over the years who have had their lives ruined... only a handful of dealers have money to burn.

And you know we don't even get that on most items. Most of the companies are working at getting better margins for the dealers finally.

been a while that me and my wife wishes to start in paintball , with long reading and information gathering i came to the conclusion that with the economy status any change is just a matter that keep doing profits.

We have already peaked and are now on the decline. So you have seen the sport grow peak and now decline. Thats overall but in the fine print we have seen a resurgence of woodsball.

Why is this thread still alive and on the home page? It get's one nonsense post a year (like this one) and no members on the site care about 50 cal. The only use for 50 cal is to introduce kids to paintball and if they get serious enough to start reading pbnation then they will be serious enough to move up to 68.

50 cal is a way to capture more players. If they are already on here than they are captured.

Only reason to keep this alive is if fields are using it to discuss how they make 50 cal work on their field. They are not doing this.

50 cal is boring. I say we close this thread.

It's probably pinned because it has the original press release in it. Why do you want it to disappear? It's part of history.

We charge the same for .50 cal and .68 cal and get more people choosing .50 cal these days. So in a way, it was the next big thing.
