Nice, I like the twist lock. Can you take off the elbow if you only want to run it Magfed? And are extra magazines expensive/available?

Spyder threads and not FSR kinda a downer. Still pretty cool for probably fairly cheap.

Not exactly Spyder threads, it's the DLS barrel. Twist-lock to select hopper or magazine, so you could run both.

Mags are the same ones the rest of the Spyder line runs, and the feed neck is removable. Not sure if the whole block comes off, or if it's just the neck itself that would unbolt.

Heh, thanks. I didn't see that because I searched the text and "feedneck" is spelled both with a space and without one. They outsmarted me.

I'd like to see a picture without the feedneck from the right side.

It looks like the block is part of the gun, but that doesn't bother me.

I love the window on the side, and the "Loader" and "Magazine" engraving on the barrel. Excellent feature.

I enjoy magfed play because of the limited paint format and the skill required for clean and quick reloads. It's definitely a different type of paintball, kind of like stock-class play.

John is correct, the block is part of the gun. The barrel detent(holds the barrel in place when switched to magfed or loader fed) is housed in that part of the gun. I usually throw the sight rail from a MR6 on my DL9 when playing magfed only.

That looks really good without the hopper! Have a pic from the other side though?

Added.

I'd like to develop a cover for cosmetic purposes. The bolt and barrel o-rings do a great job of sealing everything up.

I'm liking the grease gun/tech-9 style on this thing. Magfed is getting harder and harder to ignore as a side project.

that's a rather unfortunate perspective.

Hopefully they can make extra magazines available at affordable prices. I'd buy this if a 5pack of mags were available at a slightly better price per unit than buying 5 individual mags.

EDIT: Makes me wonder if we'll be seeing any magfed products getting their debut at cup. The surge is pretty big as of lately.

Are the mags the same as the Hanmer7 mags (which are FSR capable?)

What's keeping this from shooting first strikes, the twist lock barrel opening?

I think that would be a good aftermarket part, pretty sure it could easily be made too

I do believe they are. I've been tempted to pick up a Hammer7, and having a semi option that uses the same mags in a nice streamlined package (no big stock or foregrip) would be a huge bonus.

Could be opening in the barrel or in the body being the wrong shape. A MR5/6 barrel or twist lock adaptor would solve the barrel opening issue, but the body opening would need some home brew modification. Luckily, the gun is cheap enough to go all Dr. Frankenstein on it and not feel too bad if you mess up.

Or, just pair it with a Hammer7. Convenient mag compatibility and pump action tends to be more wallet friendly with expensive First Strikes.

Cool looking and concept for sure but I still think the Hammer 7 holds this price bracket for this item well. I've never been keen on the hopper/mag combo just one or the other. Sure if someone did actually come up with the block to close off the hopper port it could be a viable magfed. But no FSR, so.... Eh.

9 rounds is probably too few for this to take off as a magfed play option - and given that it doesn't take FS which negates the dual feed play style I'm not really seeing the value prop here.

This with FS or larger mags: yes. As is: too much compromise.

True, although price isn't everything, and pump certainly isn't for everyone. This is a way to introduce newer players to mag-fed games without breaking the bank, and without making them learn not only mag-fed, but pump at the same time.

Classic JT, don't produce quality, just make **** that looks cool to someone who has never played before and whore it out. Talk about an awful company. I stopped wearing my flexs from back in the day because they are such an embarrassment
