this is a great intermediate gun. it has a on/off, clamping feedneck, great trigger for walking, metal eye covers, etc. only thing i recommend getting is zick kit. it's light weight so that's why there is a little kick. but its made from eclipse so you know it has to be good. played with it for about a year and nothing has gone wrong, very reliable (if kept in good condish). shoots ropes, wish there was more modes on it but other then that great overall gun

near the end of the break-in period, it was acting gay. kicky, very loud, and very inconsistant. i turned the lpr 3/4 a turn from flush and put the board back to stock. the next day, it was butta smooth, fairly quiet, and consistancy was godly.
# off the top of my head (this was yesterday) 292,294,294,295,294,292,298,295,294. i might of screwed up a couple numbers but it was like +-2 to 1 fps at 294.
not 1 leak.
quality is the best in the business.
i just sold it but i'm buying an upped etek2 now since i like it so much
if you think about an etek2 with a star frame, cure bolt, and zick, it really is an ego8. same bolt, rammer, regs, on/off, board, trigger, barrel, ect. just a tad heavier. the difference from the etek1 to the 2 is better looks, barrel, trigger, and regs.

This thing is a beast, even with stock parts. I sold my etek 3 and kept this because there was no drastic reason to keep the 3. Upgrades are backwards compatible with the weeks and parts are in abundance. They sell for pretty cheap so it's easy to find a steal

Overall these are great markers and they can be had for very cheap anymore. Parts may be hard to find, but they are out there. The shot quality is good, (remember we're talking about a marker from 06) they are super easy to service on your own, they are easy to take care of, ergonomics are pretty good, its light, They are also nice to look at. Bottom line is I would recommend one to a new player or someone wanting to get back into the game for cheap. If you have the money to spend however, I would look at some of the newer markers out now.
