Cons:
I've been running my Freak on just about everything I shoot for several years now. Being able to run everything from .679 to .695 is great, since I never know what the paint of the day is going to be, and now bores are available in .677 and .675 sizes. This is a great barrel for pumps, semiautos, and electronic guns alike. I've heard that the inserts can be fragile, but really, they shouldn't be out of their case unless they're being changed out anyway. so that shouldn't be a concern! The modularity of the whole system is something that really appeals to me - I have one set of inserts, a couple fronts, and a back for Cocker, Angel, and Spyder threads, to cover any gun in my arsenal.

Pros: Flexible, allows good paint-barrel match
Cons: Inserts can vary significantly from stated size
The freak system is great because it gives you a nice range of bore sizes, and lets you use them on several guns and with several barrel lengths just by swapping out one component, either the back (switch threading) or the front (switch length).

Weak points include inserts that are not quite the sizes printed on the sides, and you only have the 5-6" of insert length where you have full pressure behind the paintball, which can negatively impact air efficiency since once the paintball is out of the insert the air escapes past it.

Smart Parts Freak Barrel Kit I miss having this barrel kit on markers, that's for sure. Made paintball so much easier to adjust on the fly throughout the day.

I got this kit when I got my SmartParts Shocker SFT. Used for the past six years. Two piece kit with multiple inserts. The inserts are nice for a little more accurate paint, it is pretty light too. Never had any problems. Note, back is the Freak, my front is All American.

Well, I got this barrel kit with my Nasty NXT for free, so this review will be as unbiased as possible.

So lets start out with the good.

Goods
-Shoots straight

-Multiple backs to match paint-to-bore size

-Lots of options (colors, sizes, etc.)

-Pretty adamant (this barrel will not break or chip, unless it's intentional)

Bad
-If paint is chopped, your balls will fly all over the place, unless the barrel is cleaned to a perfection

-Heavy (It's up to you if this is bad or not, it could reduce the barrel raising at high ROF's if you have a light marker)

Overall, it's not a bad barrel, it shoots straight, kind of heavy, isn't too expensive, but there are definitely better options than it. I can't recommend this barrel to you, unless your a smart parts fan, or have a shocker and want it to match with your marker. Other than that, you might as well get a dye UL or something.

I have owned the freak barrel system for well over 5 years now, I must say, I am very impressed to own such a barrel system for as long as I have. The barrel system has lasted longer than most of my guns, which is very surprising.
It shoots very accurate and I love the fact that you can interchange to any ball size of your choice depending on the size of the paint.

I would recommend this system to anyone who wants to lay paint in a very accurate manor.

A++
