Pros: Comfortable, nice lens
Cons: Too wide
This mask is great, but it is a little wide for my liking. It has a nice huge lens for great view, but i like masks that are thinner and hug my face, this one just seems a bit bulky. I want the smallest surface area possible. The virtue vio is a much better fit for me, and it still has a pretty large lens. The xs version i like the best, the rubber is softer on the mouthpiece for better bounces. The best masks ive ever used is of course the i4 and i5, but i like to try different things.

I absolutely love the look of the EVS however the biggest drawback to them is the echo of your own voice inside the mask. I have several other masks and not one of them is even close to the Extreme echo you get in the EVS.

Have been wearing the EVS since they were first released. (Was the first in Australia to have one).

Never had a problem with them. Easy to clean, Easy to change lense and the field of view out the lense is amazing and unmatched.

I now have 2 EVSs and I normally try to lend out the second one so newer players can see what other masks are available.

The mask is great. Its easy to get the lenses switched out. The foam is comfortable. The ears don't make the sides of my head hurt.

I've had the mask fog on my one time, but it was hot and raining so ill give it a pass.

My HK go pro mount attaches perfectly.

There is a spot on the lens where if you get shot the whole mask rings... Its loud.. not a deal breaker though.

I have a large head and I feel protected in this mask.

Empire EVS-Enhanced Vision System Incredibly wide range of view, comfortable, and easy to change the lens with no pieces that come off the mask when changing them. Really nothing to complain about. Get one.

Pros: Unobstructed Vision
Cons: Voice Reverb and Hearing
I became interested in the EVS mask for the sole reason that the lenses were larger than any other mask out there. I picked it up NIB from Amazon for $100 in a "damaged box" warehouse deal. The damage was literally a torn corner of the box, so keep an eye out for these deals! Onto the mask.

In the vision department, the EVS is definitely king. I really don't like wearing anything that appears in my vision. I don't like hats because I can see the brim. I don't like sunglasses because I can see the frames. So for me, paintball masks are really a losing situation. I came to this mask from the E-Flex, a mask with very visible nose bridge, which drove me nuts. I'm happy to say the EVS has none of that. Vision is completely open, wonderful to use. The foam does have a break in period, and at first feels rough on the skin. It softens up and becomes very comfortable after about a day or two of play.

The rest of the mask suffers a bit, however. I don't understand why they couldn't have made an incredibly soft and super breathable lower for this mask just like the E-Flex, but with the same shape as the EVS. Instead we get the typical cool styling, which does look cool, but suffers immensely in both breathability and sound projection. The only spot for your sound to really leave is through the little triangles on the front of the mask, and not much of it leaves. Most of it comes back and blasts you in your own ears.

The soft ears of the mask don't seem to let in as much outside noise as I'd like either, and I always find myself having to really pay attention to hear if somebody is communicating to me. Put another way, I'm not picking up on conversation on the field unless I'm trying to. More often I'm listening to myself breathe. Also, the velcro tape used to secure the ears to the mask came off the first day of play.

The lens swap system is awesome and easy. No gripes with it, easy to use and works well. One thing I will say: Do not buy the lime green and black one! The lime green frame reflects onto the inside of the lens and actually obstructs vision outside. Just something to consider when thinking about what color you want.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the EVS, as it has the visibility I really like and need to enjoy paintball. Playing in the E-Flex drove me nuts. However, the noise reverb really make me want to check out the Dye I5 to see if it does a better job. If the visibility is there on the I5, and breathing and sound projection is better, I would switch to it. For now, I'm going to keep playing with it.

I have used these for awhile and the only thing I can complain about is the weight in the front and how easy they fall off not only have they been knocked off my face during a game but I have seen multiple others at games have their evs fall off from sliding wrong or what not. other than that they are great!
