The DM-14 represents over ten years of paintball marker evolution. Our customers and athletes demanded perfection, so that's what we strived for in all our design decisions. Revamped and rebooted, the DM-14 is smaller and more air efficient than previous incarnations of the DM, with a streamlined design, nearly half and inch shorter than the DM-13. Its also easier to clean and maintain ever than before. When you take the field you can be sure DYE has spared no expense in putting pure performance in your hands, as the DM-14 has been born again hard.

Pros: great shooting spool marker. looks amazing
Cons: ASA is horrible. DYE resale is horrible
I have been shooting matrix guns since the days of air tech and I have always been very impressed with how well the Matrix shoots. The DM14 is no exception and instantly after shooting it, it felt like an old friend you have known for years. This is probably the best DM yet and i love the improved ergonomics of the marker. The downside is that it shoots exactly like every DM has shot in the last 10 years, which isn't a bad thing however it isn't going to shoot any better than your DM12 or even your DM9 for that matter. Negatives about the marker is that resale is horrible and the ASA lever is probably the worst design DYE has come up with yet.

Pros: Smoothness, Look, Feel
Cons: Value, Foregrip thickness
The appearance and performance of the dye dm14 are supurb. Dye really outdid themselves by finally making a gas thru-grip marker. The foregrip sleeve was a little too beefy for me but this problem was addressed on the dm15. Reliability took a 4 star because the bolt is not as "quick-release" as it could be. The only real knock on this gun as well as other Dye guns is the value. I purchased mine 6 months after release for $800 when sticker price was $1500 and resold it 5 months later for $730. It in now worth even less. I feel the worst for someone who bought a dm15 for $1500 and saw a month later the value drop to $999 new on ansgear.com. Dye is also is a dispute with Wells Fargo which has spilled out all over PBN. I hope that Dye can resolve this issues but they likely capitalize on their own market because people would rather buy one year older for half the price and sell it for a small loss than to take a huge loss. Overall, I love Dye guns and this was an exciting marker to use. If cost/value is not an issue for you, then it is the marker for you.

Pros: Shoots butter
Cons: profile, asa
The best marker I've owned. The absence of an OLED is a drawback but you can not beat the smoothness and accuracy of the marker. I got mine for cheap but it's definitely worth the price. The marker does feel heavy when by itself but when its air'd up and your hopper on the weight is perfectly balanced. If you shoot a lot use a 68 cubic inch or better. I use a 48 and have no problem running around with it.

Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Heavy, ASA is garbage, grips are flimsy
Pro:
The grip frame is the most comfortable grip frame I have ever held

Cons:
Everything else.
PSP Ramp is only 2 shot rather than 3.
Heavy
ASA Pin broke in mine 3 times in 2 months.
ASA lever is impossible to turn.
Grip tabs bend and break each time you remove the grips, which is necessary to change settings.
Board dip switches must be flipped with an o-ring pick or similar tool with can damage them.
No screen on board.

This marker was one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had. This was the first modern high end I bought after getting back into the sport after an 8 year hiatus and I quickly moved on from it. I had ASA issues from day one ranging from the lever jamming to the pin shooting out of the ASA. Not to mention how heavy this marker is compared to the Luxe, Insight, and LV1 I have owned since then. The grips are a tool less design which is a good idea but executed poorly as the tabs that hold the grips on tend to bend or break causing the grips to stick out or become floppy. The grips must also be opened every time you want to change a setting so you can flip the dip switches into tuning mode but the dip switches themselves are so small that you must use an o-ring pick or similar tool to move them.

I was very disappointed in the DM14 since I loved my DM4 and DM5 that I owned before taking my hiatus. I will not buy another Dye marker until they begin to show some sort of innovation.

Dye Precision Dye Matrix 14 (DM14) Super light weight. Great balanced hold and feel. As long as the gun is cleaned/maintained it is extremely reliable. Only cons to me would be the design of the eye pipe. Seems easily cracked.
