I have shot Excaliburs for some time now, and it has become by far my favorite marker. I am a complete closed bolt convert due to this thing, and you will be too if you use one! When you pick your first one up you will feel the quality, hard work and ingenuity that want into making these markers. Its epecially low pressure operation coupled with very few moving parts make for a very very smooth and quiet firing sequence, and its closed bolt, so you know its going to be very accurate!
I have shot all types of markers out there, and this one keeps bringing me back. I own 4 of them now, and wouldn't get rid of one for any other marker out there

Built with AMERICAN quality. Only uses oil as lube and it shoots as smooth as spool valve guns but with insane efficiency. they also are insanely reliable .
also it weighs a bit more then the modern guns but seeing as you can shoot more paint per tank you can use a smaller tank 45 ci and shoot the same paint as a spool valve with a 68ci tank and thus have similar weight setups and shoot the same paint.
Try one out, its hard to find them but once you do you will love it

AKALMP ExcaliburProbably the most reliable gun I have ever owned. Quiet and smooth, but slightly heavy.

Excals are the Flagship of AKA's Fleet. They were a step ahead of anything at the time. They are one of the smoothest shooting guns out there. Not to mention they are very quiet. Plus if they are tuned correctly with a good barrel/paint match, they can hit +/- 1 FPS easily. Did I mention how smooth they shoot. If you have the chance to test one out, do it, you will not regret it. They really are a different breed of gun.
AKALMP Excaliburdefinitely a head turner, until the viking came out. closed-bolt electro that is great shooting, but is plain looking.

shooting - like a "closed-bolt" great shot to shot consistency.
style - not good, but has a great annodozing.
the excal is very stable, probably because it weight a ton. but with aftermarket board late in coming and for the first couple of years there was no "eye" support, it just faded.

Excaliburs have an extremely satisfying firing cycle, they just feel good to shoot. Being closed bolt they have 2x the number of parts of your normal open bolt marker but due to AKAs excellent quality control you would never know it. Always a fun marker to shoot.
Now for some of the bad points, I would not recommend this marker to anyone unless they wanted it beforehand. It is heavy, after playing with it a few hours compared to my etek is a huge difference. It is complicated to adjust settings and if something goes wrong not only are there a ton of places for the issue to occur but to even work on it you need a special tool kit. The Excalibur is only good looking to a minority, it has nice clean industrial lines and is built like it looks. Unfortunately, it is a marker with little to no future, thankfully AKA still stocks parts but they are pricey.
If you want an Excalibur then you are going to buy it irregardless of the review, if you are on the fence go with something else, the milled Viking is a "better" lighter choice.

Excaliburs were arguably the best overall marker of its time in the early 2000s. The closed bolt and low pressure operation allowed for smooth consistant shots. Excals could even get well over 2000 shots on a ful 68/45 fill. Its a shame Smart Parts sued AKALMP into discontinuing making Vikings and Excaliburs back in 2004. I can only imagine how awesome that product line could be by now.
