Pros: Awesome Fields; Most Refs are nice
Cons: Very Pricey
I go here a lot with my friends and we love it. We have also tried the new cousins paintball field in Calverton/Riverhead and that was ok...except for the ticks. So we decided to stay at cousins. The fields are the best thing complete with amazing props and they are all different sizes for different types of play (scenario, woodsball, some speedball). The refs are nice, except some aren't so nice to rentals but that isn't a problem for me and my friends. The only down size is the price. I could easily drop 100 bucks going. However during the summer weekdays they offer free admission on some days which help. Overall still my favorite field and the extra money is worth being free from ticks

Pros: Staff, fields
Cons: Paint-price and quality
High Velocity outdoor in Coram is my favorite place to play paintball. In 20+ years I have tried many fields in the north east (including Skirmish) and I prefer High Velocity over all the others.

High Velocity outdoor has 7 fields. The lone woodsball field is ok - just not my thing. The other 6 fields are scenario themed. Of the scenario fields my favorites are World War II, Trenches and Castle.

Pros:
The owners/staff. Very friendly owners. Very good reffing.
The fields. See above.

Cons:
Paint. High Velocity needs better paint. The quality SUCKS. For the price of a case ($75 + tax at the shop, I believe $90 at the field), the quality should be better. Either get better paint or lower the price.

I definitely recommend visiting this field. Especially if you are in or near NYC.

Cons: Expensive
I enjoy going to High Velocity. I never had a hard time with anyone there. They are very strict about using their own paint which is very expensive. You will not be allowed to walk into the staging area without being checked first. I have no problem with that. I suggest if you are planning to go there stopping at the shop to pick up paint its cheaper at the shop than at the field.

I have left my gear in the tackle boxes many times and they have never been touched but I also always make sure I bring my lock with me. Foods good and reasonable. Porta-Potties are clean as well. I have no complaints other then paint prices but I can look past that.

High Velocity Paintball II (Outdoor) Loved going here with a group of co-workers as well as a few (more like 20+) other people they knew outside of work. The fields kept us thinking about what would happen especially in the WW map.....

Loved going here with a group of co-workers as well as a few (more like 20+) other people they knew outside of work. The fields kept us thinking about what would happen especially in the WW map.. head shot heaven in the ditches.

I would suggest getting your own marker however, the one I used (unless it was a lemon) decided to jam twice on me, second time was caught on cam. first time was I believe a ball breaking in the marker (not sure on all my terms yet still a "newbie" and the second the trigger decided to lock up on me/the hammer (?) was not blowing back due to not being oiled apparently (The marker still never exactly fired paint correctly after the second time)

Besides for the slight rental issue I loved everything else. They had food and beverages for when you wanted to take a break and they had apparently a small section where you are allowed to 1v1/2v2/3v3 (didn't go but others asked the ref about it).

Rules seem to be based on ref. or based on the group your with. I was with a 20+ group so we got to choose the "surrender" that no one listened to
