Read this all the way through before leaving feedback. If you don't understand or don't agree with any of these rules, don't use our feedback system.

Do not leave feedback until the deal is 100% completed. You can only edit feedback for 48 hours so get it right the first time.

Do not troll and or leave unwarranted feedback because it can result in a ban. Do not joke around in other people's feedback. Feedback fraud is taken very seriously and can result in your account being permanently banned.

  1. No false feedback. You must have sold, bought or traded something on PbNation of more than $5 value (not including shipping) in order to receive or give feedback. A transaction has to have taken place. You can not give away things such as stickers, parts or gmail accounts for feedback.
  2. All feedback must be from PbNation. The deal must have originated through a B/S/T thread on PbNation and not locally at the field, on eBay or down the hall with your brother. You can meet locally to exchange gear or money, but the deal must have originated in public areas on PbNation (PM's are not valid for feedback). If you meet locally to exchange items you need to state this in the feedback. You may NOT say "fast shipping" in such circumstances or anything similar. If the person is known to you in any way (on your team, friend from school, relative or even someone you met once or casually know), you must say this also. (See rule # 7 for more.) You may not post any feedback that may be misleading. Violating any of these rules is feedback fraud which results in an immediate and permanent ban.
  3. Product or funds must have been sent or exchanged for feedback to be applicable. One side must have shipped or sent funds before feedback can be left. You can not leave feedback if the transaction did not go through or the other person changed their mind before you sent out payment or product, even if you were scheduled to meet up and the other person did not show up. Using a third party service would have prevented such an inconvenience.
  4. Only leave feedback for the username you dealt with. Do NOT leave feedback for a different user account. If you leave feedback for someone and it turns out you did not do a deal with that username, then YOU will have committed feedback fraud, and may be permanently banned.
  5. Do not expect a mod to delete feedback for you if the person you dealt with is upset. Do not expect mods to mediate deals that went wrong either. Work it out with them so both parties are satisfied.
  6. Do not expect a mod to delete or modify feedback you left. Think before you post and give the other party a chance to work any problems out before posting.
  7. Please follow this format when entering feedback. Include what the item was, a short review of the transaction and a detail or two that stands out (example: 2005 Ego / B+ / would do business again, should have been packed better). Since this is the only part other people will be able to see, make sure to leave some detail so your feedback is useful to future buyers. You must indicate if the person is known to you in any way (on your team, friend from school, relative or even someone you met once or casually know) in this blank. You also must put how the transaction was completed if it was done in any way besides shipping the part through UPS, USPS, Fed Ex or DHL. You also must say so if you used a 3rd party. Avoiding any of these three rules is feedback fraud which results in an immediate and permanent ban.
  8. Feedback is designed to build trust within the commuinity and to show you are trustworthy and will do the right thing even without someone watching over you. Since 3rd party trading inherently means you don't trust the other person, both parties must include in the "A short comment" blank that the transaction had a third party. If you were the 3rd party and you want feedback for participating in the transaction, you must have your own B/S/T 3rd Party thread in the "Services" forum.
  9. Feedback must originate from the For Sale or WTB thread in B/S/T where the deal started. You need to find the original thread to get feedback. You may not post a new B/S/T thread just to collect feedback or post in a different thread, even if it was for a legitimate PbNation transaction. You must use the original thread. If there was no thread or you can't find the correct thread, then there can be no feedback.

If you receive feedback that breaks any of the above rules, it is your responsibility to report it immediately and follow up to make sure it is deleted. If you don't, you risk being banned

Editing Feedback after 48 hours - If you must change feedback, make a thread in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum with what you want the new rating to be as well as what you want the rating to say. We generally do not change a positive rating to negative or a negative rating to positive. We will change to a neutral rating if you have a good reason why. To speed up the process, please post the user you had a deal with, what rating you want to change it to, why you want to change it and the new text for the short description (limited to 80 characters).

Older Rules
You are only allowed one feedback thread per username. You lose your old feedback if your username gets permanently banned, you risk a permanent ban on your current account if you reference old feedback from a banned account. If you can't find your feedback thread, that is NOT an excuse to make another. There is a tutorial here that will help you find it, and if that fails post in the Talk To Mods/Admins forum and we will help you find it.

Reminder
These rules are not to be broken or bent as the staff at PbNation take feedback very seriously. Disregard these rules and you will find yourself perm-banned. Remember, we can see where posts originate from as well as who registers accounts and where they were created. You will eventually get caught if you have or give false feedback.

Is it safe to use the B/S/T section?

We've had thousands of perfect trades between complete strangers here on the site. This is the largest B/S/T for paintball gear in the world. Remember, you are not conducting business with PbNation. You are doing a deal with a user who most likely doesn't have anything invested in their account.

Please be very cautious dealing with anyone on the site. If they have lots of positive feedback spread out over a long time, that should ease some of your fears. If they are an Annual Supporting Member (ASM) then that should also make you feel a little better about the deal. However, if you are nervous in any way about a deal, the other party is trying to rush you or it sounds too good to be true, just don't do it. It is probably not worth being scammed.

We recommend you use one of our mods as an independent third party. They can make sure neither side gets scammed.

If you are not going to go through a mod, we recommend both parties use B/S/T Trust. For only $1.35 you can have the peace of mind that the first and last name, address, and email address of the other party have all been recorded through paypal. You'll also be able to see if the other person is verified and if their address is confirmed. If they are not willing to spend $1.35 to make sure the trade goes well, why would you want to deal with them?

Before you do any deals on PbNation, we strongly recommend you read all of the B/S/T Tips.

The first rule of B/S/T - 1• Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. We assume no responsibility for any part of any transaction including feedback.

Tips for posting an item for sale or trade on PbN.

Here's some general advice for using our B/S/T section. Please read our full list of tips on how not to get scammed.

Most people will want to trade equipment rather than buy yours. If they do want to buy, they'll probably try to negotiate. Expect this and list trades you are interested in and price your items accordingly. You will also have to work out who pays for shipping as well as who ships first.

Answer your PM's in a timely manner. PM the people who ask to be contacted. It may be time consuming, but his is just good business.

Clear communication is key. Answer every post politely in your thread so other people can see that you are a reasonable person to work with and what you are interested in.

Describe your product clearly (including how much use it has seen and specific wear).

Host and post pictures! Most users won't even consider buying without pics.

Here are some quick tips for using our used equipment section:
Don't take pictures with the equipment in or with packaging.
Remove all factory stickers (like warning stickers).
Don't try to make the product appear new in any way in the pictures.
Don't say: LNIB, BNIB, NIB or anything with the word or abbreviation for "new" in it.
Describe clearly and accurately how much use each product has seen.

If they are an Annual Supporting Member (ASM) then that should also make you feel a little better about the deal. If the person you are dealing with does not answer all of your questions in a reasonable amount of time and in a polite manner, move on and don’t deal with them. If they are treating you poorly now, imagine what it will be like to deal with them if something goes wrong.

Always get the other person's full name, address and at least one confirmed, working phone number before agreeing to send anything. Also record all the screen names you've talked to them on (examples - PBN, PBF, AOL, MSN, ICQ, ec.).

Buying stolen merchandise is a crime. At the very minimum you will have to forfeit what you purchased and the chance of receiving a refund is slim. If the person selling is acting shady, do not deal with them. You can lose out. Selling stolen merchandise is a much more serious crime (even if you did not steal the item).

The first rule for B/S/T is:
1• Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. We assume no responsibility for any part of any transaction. Never send money or product before a deal is agreed to by both sides and full contact information is exchanged and verified. Do not rely on PM's. If the other party is unwilling to share contact information, then don't deal with them.
That rule is there to protect you. Ignore it at your own risk.

BST Rule 1: Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. Always get complete contact information before anything is shipped.

1. Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. Always get complete contact information before anything is shipped.

PbNation assumes no responsibility for any part of any transaction here. Use common sense. Please take precautions if you ever send first. If a deal sounds too good to be true, if the other party is rushing you, or if the other member is new or has little feedback, use a 3rd party or just don't do the deal. Never send money or product before a deal is agreed to by both sides and full contact information is exchanged and verified. Do not rely on PM's, save all contact info. If the other party is unwilling to share contact information then don't deal with them. Make sure the final deal is posted in public and both sides have agreed to the deal in public.

Please read here for more B/S/T tips.

B/S/T Rules (Expanded with Examples)
These are the complete B/S/T Rules with examples.

We recommend you always check for new and old PbN feedback as well as the Theft Forum before considering any deal here.

2. Post new threads in the proper forum.
The number one reason for post deletion: The item being Sold or Traded must be posted in its appropriate B/S/T forum. Please post the item you are trying to sell or trade away in the proper B/S/T forum and not anywhere else on the site. New or "only tested" items go here in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum. If you are trying to buy something, post in the WTB forum. If you are trying to trade your item for a specific item, you need to post your item in the correct forum, not in the forum listing the items you want.

Example: A marker that has never been to the field but has been shot in the backyard goes in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum. This applies to all equipment, not just markers.

Example: If you have a marker, air system 2 barrels you may post it all together in the Gearbag forum to sell them separate or in the correct marker forum if you are trying to sell them all together.

Example: If you have a mechanical ‘Cocker and wish to trade it for an Angel, you must post that thread in the mechanical forum. If you have a pump gun you wish to trade for an air system, put it in the Pump Forum.

Example: If you are selling paintball items that go with your marker (like a barrel, parts kit, ) then you can list it with the marker in the correct marker forum.

Example: If you have a pile of items to sell separately, make separate posts in each respective forum. You can sell a marker as a package with other parts for one price, but please post it in the appropriate marker forum. (ex. You can only have 3 air systems, 8 barrels, 3 guns and few miscellaneous parts all in one thread in the Gearbag forum or in the New forum if they all are new.)

Example: A marker that has been used at the field but looks new needs to have all warning labels removed and an accurate description of the amount of use it has seen when it is posted in the Used forums.

If an item is used but has recently been released or could look new for the picture, put an accurate description of how much use each used item has received when posting in any of the used forums. You especially need to describe items that could be new based on the picture. If you're unclear, you risk an infraction and/or the thread being closed or moved. Make threads very clear so users and mods can't be confused.

Here are some quick tips for using our used equipment section:
Never put items there that were only briefly used or "just tested."
Don't take pictures with the equipment in or with packaging.
Remove all factory stickers (like warning stickers).
Don't try to make the product appear new in any way in the pictures.
Don't say: LNIB, BNIB, NIB or anything with the word "new" in it.
Describe clearly and accurately how much use each product has seen.
Don't mention other new items you have for sale. They don't belong in the thread at all.

3. No eBay, auction links, raffles or links to other forums allowed.
You may not create threads just to link to other sites. Describe what you are selling here. If we wanted to buy something on eBay or Bubba Joe's paintball forum, we'd be there instead of here. You may not conduct auctions, contests or raffles on PbNation.

4. Post a title that accurately describes what you are selling.
Please don't post "look here," great stuff or even "Egos look here" (unless it is WTB). Post what you are offering for sale.

All threads need to have a title relating to object(s) in the thread. Relate the title to your gear, like "Impulse and other gear for sale.” Offending threads will be closed or deleted.

No profanity in thread titles. This applies to any variations on profanity. Stars, characters like @ and $, etc. Anything relating to profanity in your title and we'll edit or delete it as we feel necessary.

5. List the item(s) for sale clearly and post a reasonable price. Websites may not just link back to their site.
You may not create threads just to link to other sites. Describe what you are selling here. If you only are willing to trade, please post that in the title. Please don't offer items for sale to "test the waters." If you want to see if there is a demand for what you have, search for similar products. You MUST post a reasonable price for ALL FS ads and you should do the same for WTB ads. Please do not make WTB threads for new items. Please mark WTT ads clearly in the title.

If you have a legitimate website with a shopping cart, you may ask people to check out using it when making threads in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum. However, you may not simply make a thread linking to your website. You must list the specific items you are selling as well as the price. Links can not simply go to the home page of your site, they must go to the specific page where the user can purchase the item listed.

6. Product being sold must be in seller's possession. No pre-orders.
This means you have to have it where you live or work. It can't be at a friend's house, getting repaired or on the way to you. You may not sell pre-order or drop ship items here at all. You may never list items that your supplier has available for you to buy. You have to already have the item. This means you can no list an item for a friend unless you have the item in your possession and you are going to take full responsibility for the condition and the shipping of the item.

7. One thread per item sold (please read the sticky in the Gearbag and ASM forums for exceptions).
Do not list items multiple times. If your thread gets too cluttered and you want to make a new thread, ask a mod to close your old thread first. Posting multiple threads for the same item may result in all threads being closed. We do allow Annual Supporting Members to list items a second time in their private BST forum. We allow all members to list all of their paintball equipment a second time in the Gearbag forum. Please read the stickies in those forums for more

8. Only post new or "only tested" items in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum only. Please note that Gold Ups are required in that forum.
Threads in the New or Unused Equipment / Services Folding Pen forum can only be seen by the thread starter. Threads are automatically moved there once their Gold Ups have run out. Gold Ups are required in that forum for people to see your thread in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum.

You are permitted to sell or offer new items, services and unused equipment in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum only. If a product was simply taken out of the package for inspection or testing and not played with in a game, damaged or used enough to create visible wear, it is still considered new. Please be very clear in your descriptions. Avoiding the New or Unused Equipment forum will result in an infraction and/or the post being closed. Please read about signature limitations for New or Unused items here.

Advertised prices in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum must be at or above the manufacturer’s MAP (Minimum Advertised Price). Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the closing of your thread. Gold Ups will not be refunded.

Example: A marker that has never been to the field but has been shot in the backyard goes in the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum. This applies to all equipment, not just markers.

Example: A barrel that has never been to the field but has been dropped and dented or visibly scratched can go in either the New or Unused Equipment / Services forum or the barrel forum. However, the damage needs to be properly described. This applies to all equipment, not just markers.

9. No counterfeit, illegal, prohibited or non-paintball items where the user must be 18+ to purchase.
No illegal items. This includes real firearms and drug paraphernalia of any kind. They are not to be sold on PbN. Underage users post here, this is not the place to do it.

PbNation does not allow the posting of any B/S/T threads containing counterfeit merchandise. If you post such a thread your account will be banned and the thread moved to the evidence archive. This includes copyrighted materials, patterns, and characters.

10. No selling online gaming accounts, virtual goods or currency.
They do not belong here. We used to allow them but we had too many problems where users complained they did not get what they paid for so we no longer allow their sale here.

Violating any of these rules risks an infraction, thread closing, thread deletion or even a ban. Gold Ups will not be refunded.

If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins section. Please read and follow the complete Terms of Service as well.

Please report posts that break the rules. If you can not follow all of the rules found here, please do not post in the B/S/T section of PbNation.

What is a 3rd party trade?

This is a common deal where neither party feels comfortable shipping first or at the same time. Both parties ship to a prearranged middle man, usually a mod or a reputable store who charges a small fee to open the box and make sure it is what was described.

3rd party trades generally do cost a little more because you have to pay for someone to at least check the merchandise out. You also have to pay for shipping twice because you have to ship to the 3rd party and then you have to pay for the 3rd party to ship to the new owner.

Make sure you discuss with the person handling the 3rd party trade exactly what they will inspect before anyone ships. Some will inspect more than others, but they may also charge more.

If you'd like to use any of these mods as a third party trader, please contact them directly through PMs or other method of contact listed in their user profile. Their services are not free but they will make sure you don't get ripped off.

Do any mods handle 3rd party trades?

Yes. If you'd like to use any of these mods as a third party trader, please contact them directly through their 3rd party threads, PMs or other method of contact listed in their user profile. Their services are not free but they will make sure you don't get ripped off.

3rd Party Trades are when both people involved in the trade ship to a trusted, impartial person not involved in the deal. That person then looks over both products and verifies they are as described before shipping them to their new owners. Moderators are perfect for this type of deal.

Here are the mods currently willing to help you out with 3rd party deals:

  • John
  • Hobbyhorse
  • Madpooh
  • kai83

I've been scammed! What do I do?

We're sorry someone took advantage of you. You should defiantly read the threads stickied in the Theft Forum. There's some good advice in there and different advice on what to do now. Unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do here. We have no way of knowing what actually transpired with the deal and we don't have the resources here to mediate Buy/Sell/Trade deals, even if they were made on our website. We just don't know what was promised, what was delivered or if either party is telling us the whole truth.

You should leave them negative feedback so other users are aware they don't live up to their side of the bargain. Sometimes the feedback will help them know you are serious about the problem as well.

In the future, we strongly recommend you use one of our mods to act as a third party. It might cost a little more, but that way you know you'll get what you were supposed to get.

Before you do another deal on PbNation, we also recommend you read the B/S/T Tips. They might not have saved you this time, but there is a lot of valuable information in there.

Buy/Sell/Trade Rule # 1 - Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. We assume no responsibility for any part of any transaction. Never send money or product before a deal is agreed to by both sides and full contact information is exchanged and verified. Do not rely on PM's. If the other party is unwilling to share contact information, then don't deal with them. Please read here for more .

Is Feedback from a local deal or with someone you know allowed?

Often when someone gets banned who thinks that all of their feedback was legitimate, it was due to a local trade. If the deal started with a B/S/T post on PbNation and the deal was clearly marked that it was local, with a friend, with a team mate or with a relative then it is allowed. Read on for the specific rules.

We are very specific about how to mark local deals. It says right on the page where you leave feedback: "State if you are the buyer, seller or trader. Be sure to list the product name, and your opinion of this user. (Example: Bought Ego / A- / Would do business again!). If this transaction happened locally, it must also be specified in this box!"

If you receive feedback from a local deal that doesn't have all the correct information, it is your responsibility to report it and follow up to make sure it is edited or removed.

There's also a link right on the page where you leave feedback to the full feedback rules which are very clear as well about local deals:

2. All feedback must be from PbNation. The deal must be made through PbNation and not locally at the field, on eBay or down the hall with your brother. You can meet locally to exchange gear or money, but the deal must have originated in public areas on PbNation (PM's are not valid for feedback). If you meet locally to exchange items you need to state this in the feedback. You may NOT say "fast shipping" in such circumstances or anything similar. If the person is known to you (on your team, friend from school or a relative), you must say this also. (See rule # 7 for more.) You may not post any feedback that may be misleading. Violating any of these rules is feedback fraud.

7. Please follow this format when entering feedback. Include what the item was, a short review of the transaction and a detail or two that stands out (example: 2005 Ego / B+ / would do business again, should have been packed better). Since this is the only part other people will be able to see, make sure to leave some detail to help them out. You must indicate if the person was a friend, teammate, relative or local in this blank. You also must put if the transaction was done any way besides shipping the part through UPS, USPS, Fed Ex or DHL. You also must say so if you used a 3rd party. Avoiding any of these three rules is feedback fraud.

Can a mod mediate my B/S/T deal or feedback?

Yes we can, but only if you used one of our mods to act as a 3rd party. Pretty much the only time we will mediate Feedback or a B/S/T deal at all is if one of our mods was used as a third party. Then we at least know what happened.

I'm sorry but we can't mediate any deals for you that are already in process or already finished. We have no way of knowing what actually transpired with the deal. We don't know what was promised, what was delivered or if either party is telling us the whole truth.

Hopefully you at least used B/S/T Trust so you know you have the other user's correct contact info.

Before you do another deal on PbNation, we strongly recommend you read the B/S/T Tips. They might not have saved you this time, but there is a lot of valuable information in there.

The first rule of B/S/T is: 1• Buy/Sell/Trade here on PbNation at your own risk. We assume no responsibility for any part of any transaction including feedback.

Your best bet is to talk it out with the other party. Be polite and explain your side of the situation and try to work out a deal that is fair.

On rare occasions we can mediate feedback when we have complete information about the situation. A public confession by someone who lied as part of the deal or a conviction in a court of law against a scammer will occasionally allow us to step in and mediate feedback at least. In those rare cases we will allow feedback to be left that normally wouldn't be or we can delete false negatives.

Can mods delete retaliatory feedback?

Yes we can mediate feedback if you used a mod as a 3rd party. Please have the mod notify a feedback moderator to remove unfair or inappropriate feedback.

If a user leaves you feedback you do not deserve, talk it out. Contact them direct and try to make them happy with the deal. The best way to fix negative feedback is to have the person who issueed it ask for it to be changed.

Generally it is near impossible for a mod to see who is in the wrong because we never saw the product and don't have access to the details of the deal. However, when a user states the feedback is in retaliation for a negative or neutral, it can often be removed. If a user never shipped the item after being paid, retaliatory feedback can sometimes be removed. A seller who was paid the correct amount on time better have a solid reason to leave a buyer negative or neutral feedback.

Again, the best way to handle negative or neutral feedback is to discuss it with the other party and try to make them happy with the deal.

B/S/T Tips to read before you get scammed!

Here are some simple steps you should take when trading on Pbnation.

If the person you are dealing with does not answer all of your questions in a reasonable amount of time and in a polite manner, move on and don’t deal with them. If they are treating you poorly now, imagine what it will be like to deal with them if something goes wrong.

Always get the other person's full name, address and at least one confirmed, working phone number before agreeing to send anything. Also record all the screen names you've talked to them on (examples - PBN, PBF, AOL, MSN, ICQ, ec.).

After you get name, address and phone number, use a source like http://411.com to do an address lookup to verify that they indeed live there.

If the person is under the age of 18, talk to their parents and make sure they understand what is going on and what is expected out of their child. Get a cell phone number, work number or email address where you can reach them outside of the home and make sure you can get through to them.

Pay for tracking, insurance and signature confirmation when you ship. Make sure the insurance would be enough to replace the item being sent if it is damaged or lost. Never, ever ship something without at least delivery confirmation. You run the risk of them claiming they never got it.

Pack everything securely to prevent damage, and make sure you tape the openings to prevent tampering.

If someone has what you think is questionable feedback, check out a few random people on the list and see if they have low post counts, very few feedback or a recent join date to when the feedback was left. These are all warning signs that the feedback may not be legitimate. Report sketchy feedback and a mod will look into it.

Check other forums and even google to see if the person is a known scammer.

Whenever possible, pay with PayPal, money order, or check. This will allow you to see who cashed the money.

Just because you have received a payment through paypal doesn’t mean they can’t claim the funds back. Make sure to save proof you sent the package and they signed for it for at least three months.

Since a user is capable of editing the thread after they have sold the item, quote the original for sale post with the item you are buying and rehosting the images so that even if they change the initial post, you always have a copy in their thread of what was for sale. This helps settle any argument later about what was and was not part of the deal.

Use the serial number to verify with the manufacturer that any marker you want to buy is not stolen. If it is stolen, turn over the seller’s information to the manufacturer and report the post immediately to PbNation.

If you have little or no feedback and are selling or trading a gun, don't expect people to send payment or merchandise first or even at the same time. If you feel like you can't trust someone, then don’t. If you feel the deal is too good to pass up, ask a mod or admin about 3rd party services. It's worth the extra money to make sure you don't get scammed.

Only trust feedback from the actual seller in their for sale thread. Verify the name is exactly the same and feel free to PM the user from their feedback thread to make sure it is the same person you are dealing with if they are using the old style feedback.

Do not accept funds over what is owed, especially if they want you to send the extra money with the equipment they are buying. This is a classic scam where the initial funds will prove to be fraudulent and you will owe for the full amount.

Photoshop is a wonderful tool, and often a devious one. Ask for specific pictures. This may seem obvious, but many times people see one pic and that is enough for them. Not only does this help prevent someone from taking the picture from another source, but it also helps to make sure everything is in a condition described.

Don't rush into things. Many times scammers will want you to rush into a deal or ship next-day air. Take time to get all their info and finalize a deal you are both happy with.

If your gun has a serial number, write it down. Take pictures of it. Also make note of every distinguishing mark you gun has. This only aids in the return of you gun if it is stolen.

Keep all your contact logs with the person. PbN PMs, AIM logs, and emails will help with any deals being disputed. Be careful though, as they can easily be faked.

Do not send cash. Ever. Most of the time, it will never make it to it's destination if you send cash in an envelope and then it is gone for good.

If you've been scammed and have proof, feel free to post it here in the Theft Report Forum but more importantly, contact the Police and try to get your gear back.

Check the stickies in the Theft Report Forum. There is good advice there as well as a list of people to avoid.

How do I leave feedback? (instructions)

Go to any B/S/T thread where you purchased or sold an item. Remember, you must have posted in the thread to leave feedback. Find the user with whom you completed a deal. In the top right of their post, click on the words, "Post feedback for buyer|seller"

Make sure you read the feedback rules before leaving feedback. If you don't agree with them or understand them, don't use our feedback system.

Here's an example where you were the seller:

Here's an example where you were the buyer:

(Notice how both buyers quoted the original sale so even if the seller edited his post to "Sold" later, they could still read the details of what was purchased. We also recommend posting the terms of the deal in the thread once they've been agreed to so there is no confusion.)

If it was a trade and you both have a thread, the feedback can start with either thread. You are not allowed to receive or give feedback from both threads since it was one deal.

Then fill out the following quick form. Other users checking feedback later will only be able to see the top three blanks. The large additional comment is for direct communication with the other person in the transaction.

That's it. You're done. The system will automatically send the other user a PM with a link to the feedback you posted so he can post feedback in return or reply to your comments.

The Feedback rating system is easy (just like eBay). You receive:
+1 point for each positive comment
0 points for each neutral comment
-1 point for each negative comment

Feedback FAQ

Make sure you read the feedback rules before leaving feedback. If you don't agree with them or understand them, don't use our feedback system.

What does the Rate button do? (little yellow or grey tag)
This is a shortcut to write feedback about someone who has already rated you. You can click on the Rate yellow tag or you can go to the thread and rate them from there. It will end up doing the same thing. Grey Rate buttons just mean you have already left them feedback.

What does the Edit button do? (little hammer)
It allows you to edit your own post in another user's feedback. You only have 24 hours to change your post, so put some thought into it the first time. After your feedback is locked, it stays.

What does the Report button do? (little triangular warning)
It allows you to notify a mod of false feedback. Do not use it if someone has given you bad feedback. Please read the last question in the FAQ before using the Report function.

What is a Feedback Score?
That is the user's number of positive pieces of feedback minus their negative feedback. Neutrals do not count for or against this score. Example: 5 positives, 2 neutrals and 2 negatives would mean a feedback score of 3. Remember, a user with a high score might still have some negative transactions. Make sure you look through their feedback thoroughly and read the negative posts before trading.

How is the new feedback system different?
It has several advantages. You can now at a glance see a user's positive, neutral and negative feedback. You can also communicate directly with another user to solve a dispute without cluttering up a feedback thread. You can even post feedback for a user straight from their Buy/Sell/Trade thread.

What do I put in the "A short comment" blank when I leave feedback?

What if I can't find the B/S/T thread? How do I get feedback?
Feedback must originate from the For Sale or WTB thread in B/S/T where the deal started. You need to find the original thread to get feedback. You may not post a new B/S/T thread just to collect feedback or post in a different thread, even if it was for a legitimate PbNation transaction. You must use the original thread. If there was no thread or you can't find the correct thread, then there can be no feedback. Feedback that links to the wrong thread is feedback fraud.

Do I have to post in the thread before I can leave feedback?
Yes. The system will not allow you to leave feedback in threads you have not posted in.

What if I want to edit the feedback I posted?
You only have 48 hours to edit feedback. We recommend you complete your deal and test all of the product before posting any feedback. If something isn't right, contact the other party and give them a chance to make it right before posting feedback. Once you post feedback, after 48 hours it gets locked.

How do I view my feedback page?
Go to any of your own posts and click on your name. Click on the option that says "View Feedback." This doesn't just work for your own feedback, you can view anyone's feedback like this.

You can also follow links on Feedback pages back to your own or other people's feedback. Or you can go to your profile and click the View Feedback link under User Notes.

How do I view someone else's feedback page?
It's just like viewing your own. Go to any of their posts and click on their name. Scroll down to the Feedback link and click it. Take your mouse and put it over your name over your avatar. Click on the one that says "View Feedback." You can view anyone's feedback like this.

You can also follow links on Feedback pages back to your own or other people's feedback. Or you can go to your profile and click the View Feedback link under User Notes.

How do I give or receive feedback the old way?
All old feedback threads are now locked, but they are still visible. You can still refer users to it so they can check your old feedback, but they won't be able to post in it. In other words, you can't leave feedback the old way.

How do I post 3rd Party Trade feedback?
Feedback is designed to build trust within the community and to show you are trustworthy and will do the right thing even without someone watching over you. Since 3rd party trading inherently means you don't trust the other person, both parties must include in the "A short comment" blank that the transaction had a third party. If you were the 3rd party and you want feedback for participating in the transaction, you must have your own B/S/T 3rd Party thread in the "Services" forum.

How do I give feedback for a New Products / Services thread if I won't get the item until after the Gold Ups on the thread expires and I can no longer view it?
Always sure both parties post in the thread before the Gold Ups expire. Make sure you have the seller leave you feedback as soon as you buy the item. Then when you receive it, use the yellow rate tag in your feedback to return feedback. If the seller forgets to leave you feedback, they can always view their thread in the New Item / Services Holding Pen and leave you feedback from there. However, if you never posted in the thread, you won't be able to get feedback from that deal. Never post in a different thread to leave or receive feedback. Feedback that links to the wrong thread is feedback fraud.

What about users that are banned?
If they are temp banned, they can leave you feedback when they come back from their vacation. You lose all of your feedback when you are perm banned from the site. You also lose your rights to post new feedback. If you had a deal from a perm banned user and he never left you feedback, it is lost. Under no circumstances may you leave or receive feedback for a user under a different user name than you dealt with. In other words, if a user is banned, you may not leave them new feedback under their new user name or receive it. Violating any of these rules is feedback fraud which results in an immediate and permanent ban.

What was wrong with the old system?
The old system was ghetto. Anyone could fake feedback and even good users were augmenting their feedback with a couple fake posts because it was so easy. Users were constantly claiming they had all positive feedback when they often did not. Also people were claiming feedback from a different name was their own. This feedback is linked to your name so there is no confusion. The old way was just designed for a much smaller user community and we got hundreds of complaints about it.

Why can't PbNation convert our old feedback for us? Or just automatically enter your positives?
One of the reasons we have the new system is because people kept forgetting to put in a link to previous transactions. Only you know where those transactions are. We can't find them for you. Remember, we created this system because of all the "fake positive" pieces of feedback out there. If we validated all of the old feedback by entering it in the new system then we would taint the new system with that old fake feedback. The new system wouldn't be any more reliable than the old.

How do I convert old feedback?
Exactly the same as posting new feedback. Just go to the thread the deal was done in and follow the directions posted here. Don't PM people asking for feedback, just give them feedback and the system will PM them for you.

Do I have to convert old feedback?
No. You can simply link people to your old feedback thread. Just remember, any feedback in there without a link people will wonder if it is real.

Can I give or receive more than one piece of feedback for one "For Sale" thread?
If you sold to more than one person from a single thread, then yes. It works just like normal. However, if you sold to the same person more than once in the same thread, then no. No feedback system I've ever found allows that. Otherwise you could agree to buy a gun in a hundred pieces and get a hundred pieces of feedback from it. Ebay is even more strict with their feedback. They only allow you to leave feedback that will affect a user's score once ever.
