I saw the video... Does the stock led still work or is it off? I saw that you still have to use that as the on/off switch.

the switch for the gun stays in the same place so u gotta still push the stock light. it just shows up on the grip instead of the red light on the switch/button/membrane

ok heres what you do for dye stickies (or what im gonna do anyway)...on the part just above the jewel where it says "dye" drill the hole for the smled, and if you want cut a channel for your wires so that the whole thing is completely flush. that way its all nice and professional, and you dont have to worry about the battery crushing anything.
now just follow JD's instructions. i would make sure that your soldering iron has a really skinny tip, or borrow one that does. we have a soldering pencil, and i may use that, but thinkgeek.com has a really nice battery powered soldering pencil that comes with a really skinny tip, so i may just get that.

Dude this is an easy, easy mod, I just dont know where to get that flat blue led?
It might be a good idea to also plant about a 200 Ohm resistor in series with that, it will dim it down a little but will really lighten up your battery usage.
Nice work though, i likey

actually its not as bright as the pictures is. the actual res. thats on the board is not allowing its max. current flow so thats not even as bright as it can get. if anything I would just change the 1206 res. on the board. That just means removing the noid from its place. which is is too much work for a mod like this.

you can't unless you make a hole with the stock led. Yes the new hybrid lady grips has a clear H on the grips.
Radio shack doesn't sell the right surface mount that you need to make this work. Remember this is NOT an LED this is a SMD. If you want to find a place that sell them I would goto www.Digikey.com and pick up a 1210 SMD single color. any bi or multi color wont work, cause you only have one power source pad not 2 or 3..
Also on the grey grips i just did those are 1206 which are smaller then the 1210 and look how bright they are.
Everyone thats doing it, good luck.

you want a cut tape. cause you only want like 1-5, a tape and reel is like 2000 pcs.

well if you want to use a side firing smd then you can use it, but the light output of the red 90* led isn't as bright as a std SMD you can get off the net.
