Looking to Buy a Matrix - Pro's and Con's

I shot a Matrix and was very impressed with the marker.

My concerns are getting parts, maintenance and the constant leaking you hear from owners.

What are the pro's and con's of a Matrix. Granted all markers need upkeep and attention, however, how good is a Matrix?

My purpose for the marker is a lead marker for a back player.

Thanks!

I should send you on a search and close this...

But, I'll help you out directly, as I have 4 hours before I leave to come back to Canada

Pros:
Very high ROF (up to 21 bps)
Amazing trigger, and the gun feels good when you shoot it. Very smooth.
Accurate as snot, with a nice, flat trajectory.
Simple to maintain, after a couple tear downs.
Lots of friendly, knowledgeable people online to help you if you are in need.
Quiet (always nice).
Very nice feel to it, all around.
Very little chance of chopping (with LPR from either TMC or Aardvark).

Cons:
Somewhat ugly (stock).
Gas pig, but that can be slightly aided with bolt kits from either TMC or Aardvark (same bolt kit either way).
Some beehives are faulty (velocity flux).
Can't be milled very deeply (in case you wanted that done).

I don't know how much paint you shoot, but I do know that playing back, mid or front, the Matrix has always helped me put paint on people.

Dave

Wait, Fatty actually SHOOTS people? Where have I been?

And honestly, I dont see a con to this gun. Effciency could be a bit better, but playing tourney ball air is free anyway.

Some more to add to Fatty's:

Pros:
Very little kick.
Interchangeable breeches let you use any barrel.

Cons:
Can be a tad large if you play tight bunkers in the front (since you're a back player though, this doesn't really apply).

I am the smallest guy on our team, therefore I always get sent to the smallest front bunkers. Never had a problem with my matrix, it doesnt have a drop and I shoot a 14" barrel too.

pros and cons

pros: Price, it's a bit cheaper than a new angel
Takes cocker barrels stock.....so it's easy to find barrels
Easy to clean the bolt and breach
Dual rubber ball detents that don't jam up
It's so easy on paint a regular rev hopper is enough.

Cons: I hate that stinking c-clip!
Bolt stick is an issue with new guns
Faulty regs on some guns

I don't see air efficiency as much of an issue unless you have to pay per fill at your local field, or if you're a heavy shooter/tourney player. Then I suggest you buy a bolt/chip kit right off the bat. With that you can get 800+ shots on a 68/3000 fill.....with your board set up properly. That's not bad!

Whats wrong with the C Clip? You don't even need to touch it, ever. Just leave it there, its not like its in the way.
