Racegun with Micro-Cocker Body

Hey all, how well will the race-gun grip work with a Micro-Cocker? I have a micro body that I am not doing anything with and I thought about getting one these kits to put onto the body. I saw in the videos they were using Micro's on a couple but I wasnt sure if they had to do anything special to make them work correctly.

Thanks,

Aaron

the Micro cocker and half block are totally different first off. the micro is a mass producted product the half block isnt its custom made to each order. Also the cocker mechism the way the hammer/ riding block catch each other is also different. yes it will work great but you might wanna send it off to someone to get it installed AMp-Markers.com and email Josh and tell him Julius wall sent yaand they will take care of you.
have a good day

Micro Racers-

The major problem with the Micro-Cocker is the top block wears out. It has an Aluminum Block that moves back and catches a steel lug that comes up from the Hammer. This can cause some weird deforming of the back block.

As for Racing it, all it would take would be slapping the frame on. I believe the Micro's were made off the pre-98 Cocker bodies, and there is no problem throwing the Race on one.

But, with the amount you are going to hammer on the gun, you might want to fix the back block problems. This would require replacing the wear areas with a steel runner. There are a couple of was to do this, but after you do the Micro should last as long as anything else. And it would be wicked cool.

What you were seeing was the Racegun Half-Blocks. They are VERY well done Top Cocking Autocockers, but the top block is totally different, and better designed than the Microcockers. I should have pics soon.

Aaron,

For your Micro-Cocker, which I would love to do, it would be $595 for a Chrome or Silver grip, or $560 for a Basic Black grip. As for a steel insert, I would do that for $35 or so. It shouldn't be to hard. And I would love to take some pics. So, feel free to send it in. I will get you hooked up, and I think that would be the only Micro Racer.

I am working on getting a micro as we speak. I have a possible one that a guy wants to part with, but the back block is in bad shape so I am not sure if that one will be okay or not.

OJ- Stainless! ACK! Why?

Aaron-

As for fixing the current one, do you know how it looks? I can put a SS runner in it and and the wear problems will be gone. I can see about touching the whole thing up also. Let me know, and if you send pics I can let you know a bit better.

Well the guy selling the micro has backed out so I am out that option. Looks like I may have to buy a micro straight up. Just need to see if I can find someone who is selling them for less then $650.00 right now .... I know, good luck on my part.

I will get back with you guys as soon as I know some more.

Thanks,

Aaron

Aaron,

The Half-Block from Racegun is $1400, totally built. Includes the Racegrip frame. I know it is a bit more, but $650 for the gun + $600 for the grip is $1250, not to far off. And as soon as I get one in I will take pics to prove that is it a HUGE step above the Micro-Cocker in just about every way. In fact it is a huge step above almost every other 'Cocker I have seen.

But I understand if you want to do the pro-team setup. Calling it a Micro-Racer would be half the fun.

Josh

Well looks like I will be getting a micro-cocker setup. Found someone who is willing to part with the body/block/bolt/internals/grip frame for $175.00.

What do I need for the race gun conversion, pneumatics wise? Just a ram and a front LP reg correct?

Aaron!

Score! Way to go, let see:

You have the body and related parts, but no front pnuematics? I would strongly recommend a Palmers Rock or Micro-Rock, and a Palmer quick ram. They are smooth, fast and tough. After that, the rest should be easy. Doing the mod to keep the top block from wearing is nessesary for long life and serious pounding, and the rest of the tuning is fairly easy. What else does it have?

Any pictures?

Josh

Josh.

Got a question for you. Have you ever gotten a reply from Dez about getting one of his bolts made for the half block? He won't answer me.

And.... whats the word from Race on the Half Blocks?

Jynxfactor,

I need to talk to DEZ again, but he can build it, I will just have to give him mine or send him dims.

As for the Halfies, I got word that they are getting the last bugs outta the CAD/CAM system that does the back block and such. Besides that they are looking good. Here is the link to the spy photos on Racegun's site:

Should have some pics of it tomorrow .... its the blue cammo pattern that ptp offered on their markers.

I pretty much thought the same as you on the pneumatics .... I will let you know what happens and such. And when I have the money for the race-gun setup.
