Deception Pooty bolt, thoughts??

Has anyone used the pooty'd deception bolt?

Curious if it will mess with the guns ability to give a tiny backspin on the ball, not trying to start the argument on IF that happens or not.

Just looking for positive or negative review on the Pooty Deception bolt or other Alien markers for that matter. I only have one bolt, so I'd bed sad to send it out and hate it.

I can't speak on the deception bolt or other alien bolts for that matter but I have used a Pooty modded cure bolt in my 08 ego and 06 ego and it performed amazing. Instant increase in velocity which means I can decrease my HPR pressure. Much quieter shot as well due to the sealing o rings.

I think Griffan posted somewhere saying that after testing the Pooty modded bolt it resulted in a loss of FPS and some consistency loss as well. His recommendation at the time was to keep it stock

So far my impression is good, package arrive @ Pooty yesterday late afternoon and today its already on its way back to me. Well, that's what the tracking information is indicating.

As far as the inconsistencies, I hope you're wrong Mr.Bong. Although I've always come to you for advice, you always steer me right, please be wrong this time haha.

The only reason why you would have any issues is if the orings on the bolts tip ride tight in the breach. If they do then all you would need to do is use smaller size orings. The alien guns dont have a breach sealing oring at all. Not on the bolts tip or the breach. So adding orings to the bolts tip should help out huge. This was a mod that alien asked me to try out. Word is they got good results as well from a person that put orings on the bolts tip

Remove bolt tip orings and chrono. No more drop in fps? Then you have o-ring drag. Drop down the o-ring size.

Pooty ano had players heads turning as they walked by the booth, then their bodies would kind of lean and they would circle like they were bungee cord tethered to the gun, then they would walk over and pick it up.
You could see it sometimes - Uggg pretty, What is it? Must hold in hands.

yes, that was a sweet anno - assuming you're talking about your booth at LL8 - thanks for delivering my gun, looking forward to breaking it in

.... actually... since you mentioned the anno - I took a pic of the gun, give me a few minutes here to upload it....

Nice! I was a gun tech for macdev last year for World Cup. We had a poocasso gun in the booth and I noticed the same thing. People would walk by and see the gun on the wall and come in. Allot of the dudes chicks loved the colors as well. I sold that gun the first day of the event but told the guy he could not pick it up until Sunday. Jack, you guys have plans for colored grips?

Couldn't really run any scientific tests on the bolt, since I messed with the HPR thinking I was having serious issues. Turned out the HPR was not tightened down all the way and was slowly coming apart, quick crank on that and everything worked as normal. Bolt works great, but due to me trying to troubleshoot my HPR at the same time, I was unable to capture any increase or decrease in FPS.

Haven't had any issues with the bolt though, shot nearly a case through my Deception afterward and things are smooth as butter.

I like the concept of having less bolt material - less friction. The big difference with Alien guns is, because we have the insert, the walls of the outer sleeve are thinner. Therefore we have had problems with O'Ring fitting too tight. If the O'Ring groove is too small you have a O'ring that is pressed against the wall of the bore and the wall of the bolt and will slow the bolt down.
Griffan said he shot the bolt and it slowed down the ball speed by 5 fps or whatever - but it was kind of like saying that you took a poll and it was within the margin of error.
Less drag - because of less surface area - can't equate to slower speeds unless it added drag somewhere else.
Anyway we have ordered some different sized O'Rings - metrics. I want to try it with O'rings that I know will have have some play between the O'ring groove and the bore wall. Also getting some poly 90 O'Rings to see if harder equals less drag.
However for Alien this is really stuff around the edges - changing other guns to use the Morph valve is where I see the big opportunity. Once we get the Cocker valves in, I'm confident the word will spread "like wildfire" and many others will want to change over. Most any low pressure dbl stacked can use this valve and a lighter rammer.
A rammer that weighs a third or less than the stock rammer and a valve that is quieter,
and has a lower less locatable sound. I think there are lots and lots of players that want that.

Try out HNBR and urethane too!

Apparently urethane is pretty good for long moving dynamic seals. I think.
It was something discussed between Ryan (lurker) and irony and some other guys in regards to axe tuning.

We no longer mod the bolts. Removing non needed material always works great, but adding the breach sealing orings was hit or miss. The plastic that's near the bolts rubber tip is just too thin. One bolt the plastic cracked and the others it didn't. If the bolt had more plastic to work with the mod would do amazing things for this gun.
