Got my LOE Freeflow Race last night!!

I got my LOE FF Race!! Whoohoo. After some grumbling and knife sharpening I got the software installed and the firmware updated to the 1.13 version...

I can't wait to air this thing up and blast some paint.

Buy some stock in the paint manufacturers, because you are going to throw ungodly amounts of paint now.

Course you probably already did with your angel, now you will just be able to hit what you are shooting for!

Just kidding.

Yeah, it was bought at WC2k1.

It's all set now.

Should I leave it on classic or put it on semi-auto?

And what's the best setting for efficiency?

Thanks!

classic or semi....

I like classic, its a cocker so I like to shoot like a cocker.

semi is cool, tends to cycle faster because it will fire the sear, open the breach, wait x-time for load and close.

classic will hold open as long as your trigger is back, so if you have a slow finger, you could hold it open longer than the set time.

if you time your gun to 13 bps, but can only pull 10.
In classic you will have a larger load time, which is good, more time for the ball to drop, less chopping/pinching

in semi, your gun will cycle faster, but wont necessarily shoot any faster, and you lose the margin in the load time.

end result, you can only pull as fast as you can pull.

So I guess I didn't really answer your question...

If you like cockers shoot in classic.

if you are a bushy/shocker/timmy/impy/angel convert you might like semi better.

I don't think either one is any more efficient than the other though.

OK, so what's a good setting for efficiency?

It's a LOE Freeflow, so it's running around what, 45 psi on the pneus?

It did stop on balls, that was nice.

DR -
The LOE freeFlows have pretty decent efficiency, this is because thay use good valve and are designed to run about 300 psi OP (operating pressure)

Running your cocking pressure low is great for stopping on balls, fingers, whatever. dosent really have a lot of effect on your effiency. however, and my experiences may differ but a lower cocking pressure tends to run a little slower.

So in the end... if you are getting through the game shooting as much as you want/can and you dont run out of air. Great! If not, give ethan a call at 1-866-lockout, someone may have dinked around with the spring/hammer/valve you should be getting around 1800 shots on a 68/4500

Julius -

when is your merlin due in? Ill pester josh, but honestly these days you probably talk to him more than I...

I? eye? Why yes thank you I do love my eye!!!

and chicago? I am saving my pennies to go to world cup! And maybe some Pan-Am mmmm Vegas....

I got around 500ish shots on a 2800 psi fill. Seems a little... low.

It just occurred to me that you might be asking about grip settings... Duuhhhh I am slow sometimes

well... I will break it down for you here...

first before messing with it write down the current settings, or save them in the database.

then your shot should be something around 5-8 if it drops the sear and releases the hammer when you pull the trigger you are good, you can go down from there but I would not advise going less than 5.

we will come back to dwell (it has more to do with blowback)

for your CTO (or open time)

set your grip to semi, your load time to 1 and start your cto at about 15
now pull the trigger, does it cock? probably not, increase the cto a few ms at a time until it cocks, then add a couple ms for margin.

now you have your optimal CTO

you can set your close time about 5 less than your open since it does not have to push against the hammer and spring.

now we have all of your mechanical cycle times set, all that is left is your load time. depending on your loader you should start at 35 and work your way down until you either start chopping or you are happy with your BPS.

that is about all there is to it!

and if after all of that you were talking about paint efficiency... just set your load to about 80 ms, that should take care of your paint consumption.

500 shots?

sounds like the PO might have played with the lower internals.

I would suggest giving ethan a call.

out of curiosity... what input pressure are you running and is your hammer spring adjusted all the way out?

I don't know and I haven't done the hammer adjustment yet.

I don't have a guage to determine what the output pressure is...
