If you think its okay to shoot at the refs then you should not be playing paintball, plain and simple. People who think it is okay to shoot refs on purpose if not stopped will ruin paintball for the rest of us who want good dedicated officials. You people should quit now and save paintball for the rest of us.

Wow. This has been skewed WAY out of proportion. I was there, behind the ton ton netting. I posted what happened in the HK thread. i'll get it now
---
straight up on the JT field, saturday night. One of the ton ton's has a faulty break out, is like, 1 second early, he shot like 2 and went back down to normal starting position. game started and he went to his bunker, ref ran over and pulled him, i think they even did a 1 for 1.

One of the ton tons is pissed off, puts his gun down at the starting gate and walks to the deadbox... a little bit later he walks back, picks up his gun and just lights up the stupid ref. I think he hit him in the ear. The ref was all pissed and crap. Game ends, ton tons lose. Player is still pissed off, walks over, picks up his gun and shoots the ref an additional 3-5 times and walks back to the deadbox. By now the ref is running over there, ready to like punch this guy in the face.

Was funny crap, everyone was laughing and chearing. Reffing that game was horrible.
---
Really, the ref deserved it. Horrible calls were being made on that field all day, and it was time to be punished.

You guys are talking about shooting a ref like its hitting him with a shovel. Its paintball. Yes, it hurts, but only for 5 minutes at the most. The ref was nearly cross field (froms starting gate to the 50) so its not like the ref got bunkered in the head. Although, it appears he did get shot in the ear.

It doesn't matter who you are, if you dont have a gun you shouldn't be lit up. Horrible calls are a part of the games , get in a shouting match or something , but I know right now if some frenchie shot me while I was reffing he would not be a happy camper after he's out of paint.

oh, the ref was about to knock the frenchie out, but since he had to run cross field at full speed i think he thought about his actions first..

I talked to my shop owner who plays NPPL and he said that's a years suspension for the player

Good. It's pretty bad when they're supposed to be "ambassadors" of a sort , but whatever I guess.

BTW where abouts in PS are you?

I for one am surprised that a Frenchman is capable of such aggression. Then again he was shooting at someone who could not shoot back at him. So maybe its just par for the course.

Wow that is the most uneducated and immature statement in this whole thread. You are the coolest person ever!

Back to the subject - anyone know which TonTon player it was?

Oh, and to make this more interesting, I'm from France. Bring on the flames!

Ref's should be given airsoft guns for cases like that heh j/k

Getting hit while reffing is understandable it happens all the time.. but getting lit 10x cause someone didnt agree with the call should be punishable. Not legally because the sport has enough trouble involving the law we dont need anymore. The player should definitly be banned from NPPL indefinitly and the team should be ejected from that tournament. If anything the team will kick the guy off the team for being such a spaz.

hardly. The ref is fine, he didnt need sticthes, he didnt have a concussion. If anything, he was feeling pain for an hour after the incident, besides, im sure he got that night off and still got payed his dues.

You're missing the point entirely. Its not the fact that he didnt get hurt , its the fact that it's not right.

I know its not right, but that coincides directly with the calls. They were not right.

I did not see the calls but I believe you that they were bad. Those unintentional mistakes as obvious they may be are still no excuse, for malicious intentional behavior...period. Incidents like this scare away the people who actually know the rules from reffing, so players like that end up hurting themselves along with the rest of the players. You can not sayanything against that except a bunch of other idiots in the crowd like you thought it was funny. Do not worry you know <3<3p8ntgurl<3<3 and I are right and you are defending the undefendable.
