My Freestyle was chopping like mad

Well sunday i went paintballin with my freestyle for like the 3rd time. When i aired it up, it was shooting like 126. I turned it to 257 and it started leaking, so i brought it to the shop. He fixed it(i wasent there to see how) and i shot it again. It was fine.
Now during my 1st game. My freestyle started mad chopping. I mean, 1 shot with eyes on, and it wouldent fire. I turned the eyes off, and the bolt stuck... Was this becasue i was using 6 month old paint when it was 25 degrees out?
Anyway i got home, took off the eye covers, and it was COVERED IN PAINT. The detents were covered, the pds eyes were covered, EVERYTHING. Now since i cleaned it should it work fine now? I have to re-tryout for a team becasue of this gun.

Anyway for all you lazy people that dont want to read, dont use old paint in 25 degree weather with a freestyle. God i wish i saved up a little more and bought that 05 Speed.

Battery, then relube your bolt assembly, then relube your regs.

Ehhh.. it could have been the old paint, but when I tested my FS with 5 month old cheapo brand paint I never got a chop. So it could be, but maybe not.

I relubed the bolt that morning. The dude at my shop said i should only relube my regs only 4-6 cases...

it could be the battery, but i just put a new one in a month ago.

my fs chops when its 25 degrees out too.

Remember cold is going to make bad paint worse.

my guess the problem with the gun was the person shooting it.

I'll bet it wasn't lubed recently and you needed to either lube it or turn up your LPR

I bet you turned it on with eyes on, then the first ball chopped and covered the eyes, so the eyes thought that the ball was still in the chamber so the marker wouldn't shoot again. Then you turned the eyes off, and your paint that you stored through the winter broke.

Never store paint through the winter.. besides the fact that 6 months is right at the end of a paintball's lifespan.

paintballs should have a "born on" date or a "best if shot by" date

Yeah, but how long they last depends on a few factors, such as temperature changes.

I will say this, it's rare that it gets below 30 here in Houston, but old, cold, brittle paint are terrible attributes to play with. Also, check your LPR to make sure it clears the feedtube, you may have pinched a ball given the cold and brittle paint. To test, drop a ball down the tube and make sure it feeds properly and doesnt stop half way.

If you wanna play like ****, buy **** recycled paint...

man up, spend a lil more money, and buy the decent paint. Thats the end of the story. My friends 05 speed chops **** paint, just how it is up north in the winter.

But with **** paint, freestyles still blow away other high end markers.
