Installing new NOX board, need assistance

Hello,

I want to install Rocky's new NOX board.

I am a bit timid in dissembling my FS and pulling the old board of its harness in my 04/05 FS.

Does anyone have a set of photos to help take down/dissemble the frame or a good set of instructions? The ICD manual does not help.

Thanks in advance!

there is a sticky in the tech section of naughtydogs.tv that Greg of ICD wrote to help with this.

You will need a tiny piece of foam tape on the back of the board to secure it into the frame, just like the stock board.

thats is the internals of the grip frame of the 04 fs....as you can see the board is kinda floating in between the battery and the noid...simply remove the board from the grip and reinstall the nox board...your done....

Thanks!

Now that I've installed the NOX board:

I have severel questions about the the instructions and proper programming.

For the PDS: what is Drop shot on Empty Breech? #2 on #2, versus the delay shot?

Also what would be the best settings once I've figured out the blinking and programming?

For now when I flip the toggle switch on and I do not hold the trigger back, the toggle blinks once per second.

Also when I hold the trigger back in the above mode, get get a single "click".

If I do hold the trigger back and flip the toggle on, I am getting a series of 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks and so on. It seems to act like the old board without the PDS on.

Thanks in advance!

TC

OK,

The single blink when you turn on the marker tell you that you are in semi-auto mode with no cap and no ramp.

Holding in the trigger and turning on puts you in gun test mode with 5 blinks so you can dry fire the marker without paint.

The eye modes:
delay on empty breech means the marker will fire after a short delay (~.75 sec) even if there is no paint.

Drop shot on empty means that you will not fire without paint.

Hi,

The 5 blink mode is like the old board when you held the trigger back and turned it on, you could hear it work, without air.

I suppose the 5 blink mode would not waste air iwhile in the "demo-mode".

The best mode for the PDS would be Drop Shot, I would think.

The NOX is supposed to be quicker with its own PDS sensing over the stock board.

I have not put air on the FS w/ the new NOX board installed yet.

I wish owners would start listing their setups here!

Best regards,

TC

Also,

The NOX is programmable between ramp or unlimited.

The CAP mode is 15.4 bps. The instructions indicate we can set it between 15 to 20 BPS.
The old board could go 18 bps.

Have you seen a difference in the PDS sensing? Is it better? The old one seemed slow.

Can you post your setup or email me?

How's your trigger setup?

Regards,
TC

SMX:

Have you played with the setup on your NOX board yet?

So far, I have left it in Semi Auto mode.

I do not know what default modes Rocky shipped it with.

Best,

Terry

I shipped them settings that will work on any FS.

The settings I would leave alone.
Dwell 15ms
DB 5ms.
The settings you can tune
Paint Db
rof cap (if in enhanced mode).

Also our settings are where verified on our oscope. So they represent the TRUE value.

Thanks,
Rocky
