yes you can bring the gun, but the tank MUST be empty, its the not the airline your flying on you need to be worried about it is TSA that is the security with the x-ray machine, tell them what u have in the bag and tell them the tank is empty, and most likely they will let you bring it on the plane. but it CANNOT be carry-on luggage, well unless you want to get shot.

It's safer to just send your stuff UPS to your motel.

I recently went to Ecuador to play to World Cup Semi Finals. Yes, you can take both your gun and your tank onto the plane but must first do the following:

First, inform the airline when you are making the reservations that you intend to bring a paintball marker - don't use the word "gun" they hate that - and an empty tank onto the aircraft.

Second, contact the FAA (Federal Air Authority) and inform them of your intentions. They will send you paperwork in the mail that you must fill out and return to them (information about the gun and the tank). They will then send you certifications which must be placed with the gun and tank.

Third, upon arriving at the airport, head directly to the Customs Office and inform them of what you have with you. Just don't whip out a gun in the middle of the airport however and say "lookie what i got here!" They will ask for the certifications you received from the FAA and will probably want to examine the gun and tank.

Fourth, make sure the tank is empty (100% empty) and the gun is disassembled. Both the gun and the tank may not be in any carry on luggage - only boarding luggage. And both the tank and the gun must be in separate pieces of luggage - they may not be together.

Fifth, sit back and enjoy your flight.

I know all this sounds like a paint in the butt, but it is what you have to do ever since the events of 9/11. I hope you find this post useful.

Also, do not have any pball stickers on your luggage. Those are like a beacon for thieves to get into your bag. Extra insurance is not a bad idea too.

no matter what you do, DO NOT CALL IT A PAINT GUN! tell the people that check your bags that its a paintball marker, and if they dont know what a marker is, tell them it projects paintballs

DDRdev515, since the passing of the Partiot Act they've cracked down on all flights - especially domestic. If you remember, all four of the 9/11 flights were ALL domestic flights. Not one of them was international. Now that alot of time has passed, the airlines have had to comply with federal mandates.

if you bring your tanks the TWA will make you unscrew the regulator if you bring it with you so just fedex or UPS it to your destination and bring your gun with you.....the safest way to keep you gun in one piece is to take off the barrel grip frame reg so theres less chance of them jacking up your gun as in kinks/metal stress fractures/ or your grip frame screws being ripped out and distorting the mounting holes.....never a good thing
