Help! XTS

I have a sheridan XTS and I think the springs have gone.

when the gun is fired it does not recock itself. it just fires the shot and stops. anyone else ever had this problem? I have been using this marker for a long time and I figure that the springs have finally worn out from use. so does anyone have any spare springs they wanna sell?

If you think there might be another problem feel free to tell me what it might be!

Doesn't sound like springs. have you done anything to the gun?

The hammer doesn't "jackhammer" like your tank is too low, it just stops?

Are you using a regulator, or direct from the tank?

What does the gun chrono at when this happens?

Those questions can help us get into more detail, but right off the top of my head 2 or 3 things stick out in my mind.

1. You are starving the gun for air.

2. The o-ring on the hammer/striker is torn

3. The hammer/striker is binding.

1. No it does not jackhammer.

2. Direct from tank

3.chrono's about normal speed. around 250-260fps

I know it isn't starved. cause it will still empty a tank in the same amount of shots. I checked the seal it is ok. but you are probably right about the binding, never thought of that. I'll check that out tonight.

Since the bolt and the hammer are linked, check for something binding on the bolt and even the linkage as well.

have you ever put oil in the gun, if not go ahead and do so. The gun should work flawlessly after.

Use the Empire green stuff meant for blow backs, it works great.

Oil works.....but if the gun hasn't been clean and oiled it's wear and tear.

Strip it completely down and wash the main body inside and out (be sure to clean the groove that the link pin travels in) along with all the internals and o rings with hot water and dish washing liquid. Dry everything and put o rings back on internal parts and oil them down. Replace any broken or dried up o rings. This is all I've ever had to do with any JTX or XTS I've ever owned and they worked great.

pretty much the standard maintenance for any marker, just is easier with the XTS.

Oh and spyderelectra the simplicity of this marker is where the brilliance of it actually is. Very little work can keep this thing going for a long time, just like any other Tippmann modeled gun. But apparently either your lack of owning one or lack of respect for the materials that you do own, maybe you would know information like this.

now get the hell out of this thread.

same with you frenzey
