i dont think so i use to do that to my old matrix's and lcd angels.

It won't hurt, but make sure you keep the spring somewhere, in case you need it back in

i took the spring outof my freestyle and it doesn't hurt the gun at all. it makes it fast as hell!!

if you do that and adjust the trigger right, you could get some serious bounce.
