Need some advice on building custom marker

I have a few cheap old brass eagle mechanical semi auto markers and a jt 3.5 egrip. I'm having a hard time getting them to work again. They fire but don't recock but now I have an idea to turn one into a bolt action. I don't totally get how paintball guns work but there blowback markers is there any way to block the air from trying to recock the gun so I have to do it manually like a pump.
I'm only asking cuz I have a bunch of cheap crap guns I don't care about. If it works it works if not I don't care.

It depends on the make and model of the individual gun.

Some of the later BE/VL blowbacks had a valve where the recock gasses came from around the valve pin, as pictured below on the right...

That's the valve out of a Viewloader Charger. On the left is the same sized valve out of a Trilogy Autococker, which wasn't a blowback so it didn't have grooves on the valve stem for recock gas. Make the right valve look more like the left valve (new pin, fill the grooves with JB weld, whatever) and you'll be set.

some of the brass eagle valves didn't file the pin, they drilled a hole in the valve body for the blow back. Those are the easiest IMO. You can cut a piece of cloths hanger and drive it into the hole and stop all blow back.
