M98, What Next?

I just purchased a Black M98 Custom RT and A Flatline Barrel. As of now I do not have a tank to run this gun. If I go N2 are the LP internals worth it? If I go CO2, is a Tippmann XChamber a good one to go with?

Anything else as far as upgrades go that I am missing.

The is my Woods Ball gun, I have an Angel for playing Speedball. I just want to take advantage of the Flatline, and not worry about smashing my Angel on a rock in the woods.

Thanks,
Ray

Save your money and get 1) a Palmer Stab and 2) the LP kit from tippmann. I run the RT too and I noticed there is a lot of shoot-down with CO2. Best bet is to go nitro all the way. LP kit will make your gun more efficient (runs the gun at ~325psi instead of ~800 or whatever) and it also quites and maybe cuts down on the kick back.

The palmer is not really necessary on a nitro-run 98 but if you want the best performance and your nitro is a preset tank then definately go with the palmer. If you dont want to spend the $85-$100 for the palmer then I am sure you can get a decent reg for less.

I went from CO2 to nitro recently and to tell you the truth - life is beautiful with nitro. One thing with nitro and the RT - nitro WILL starve your RT (as stated by Tippmann pro-shop techs) BUT you can call Tippmann and they will send you a larger macro line for the RT (or you can get a macro hose on your own and do the mod yourself).

paintballdude_13: I don't want to have to take my WDP AIR off everytime I want to switch Guns.

I'm also trying to keep this is "Cost effective" as possible so I am defininately leaning toward the CO2 w/ a tippmann xchamber and vertical adapter.

What has been everyone expirience with these? Good xchambers or a POS?

Thanks,
Ray

i've heard that the tippmann x-chambers aren't as good as sub-zero's and other ones. if you go to www.paintballgear.com you will see that you can get x-chamber kits for the model 98 with sub-zero's and other ones.

for Co2, the tippmann Xchamber kit and what not, sucks. The tippmann X chamber is only 2 stages, and is the same size as the SubZero 4 stage. Go with either a 4 stage X Chamber, or a Palmer reg, which would help you out on Co2 also. Or you can get a Pro-Team assualt Xchamber/Foregrip where your Co2 screws directly into the X Chamber. I have it and i love it, but i am going to replace mine soon. The Pro-team X chamber is awesome for balance, it is perfect, but it is only a 1 stage X chamber, so the performance isnt very good. For the money, get the ACI SubZero.
