the serious ones are nice. that's just about enough to impress, but try some nerdier/scholastic clubs, to impress admittance boards.

You should take High School seriously, because when you apply to college you're going to wish your GPA was just a bit higher.

What state do you live in Enjoi?
Seriously, when I was a freshman, I thought all that talk about grades and crap was just trying to scare me, and being a stupid freshman I pretty much said screw them. Since then I've done good and carry a 3.6 or so, but that freshman year is killing me as far as college's go.

tl;dr: They're not bull****ting when they tell you HS is important.

yeah

I'm a sophomore in HS. I've got about a 3.9 gpa and i'm proud of it. I'm working hard in high school so I can go to college and get a good job. I'd rather retire at a young age and enjoy life than have an incredibly wild high school time then spend the rest of it barely getting by. Don't get me wrong. I still have my fun in high school, i get out and party. But I also have the realization that beating a video game won't matter half a **** when i'm submitting my resume to somewhere.

I don't feel academically competetive because I don't feel the need to prove myself like a lot of the other fags at my school. I know I'm smarter than almost all of them, I just don't care what they think. I hate kids who get like, 2 hours of sleep a night because they're doing their homework and then they come in and ***** about it. That's their fault. It's ****ing HIGH SCHOOL! Your life doesn't depend on it.

Im a senior in HS aswell and I have completely lost all motivation to work. This entire year I have done ZERO homework or studying. Im still passing everything, english and math are both actually over 80%, but there is no way I am graduating the way I am going. Yet I still am saying **** it. So...**** it. Ill work once the real world slaps me in the face and I get some motivation.

ZeR0 EVOlution is reppin' sidebar 4 life
Lets see:

7th grade: 4.0 GPA
8th grade: 3.9 GPA
Freshmen year: 3.6 GPA
Sophmore year: 1.9 GPA
Junior year: 2.8 GPA
Senior year: 3.9 GPA
SAT: 1350
ACT: 30

I never really tried hard in high school. Oh well, **** happens and I got into the college I wanted. I just asked them to hold space for me in 2 years so I can go to a CC and then transfer. Its way cheaper and I don't have the money. Sure I can use some loans and probably some scholarships, but I want to pay off as little as possible when I graduate so I can concentrate on other things.

The only thing good grades in hs are good for is getting scholarships, and with your grades that shouldn't be much of a problem. As long as you don't want to go to ivy league, which you said you didn't, it doesn't really matter. Only problem is figuring out how not to slack off once you get in college and it does matter. I personally haven't figured that out yet.

Yeah i take a crap load of Honors classes as a sophomore and my GPA is like a 3.2, or averages around there. Although i just plan to take a few AP classes in my junior and senior years to get into a decent college. I've already got a offer to come work at NPS if i can relocate once i grad. high school and two companies backing me financially right now (not enough to make a living).

Honors chemistry is the only thing giving me trouble. I find it very boring so i don't get into it like i guess im supposed too. What i want to major in has nothing to do with science/application of science so i don't care.

I still have like, a 3.5 weighted GPA, and I got an 1810 on the PSAT, and I know I can improve my SAT score by about 150-200. My mom is making me talk to my counselor about it because she is being such an idiot. I don't feel so insecure that I have to get straight A's and be a grade-grubbing little ***** like all the other kids at my school. My mom's latest complaint is that I "Don't do anything but play video games all day". Well of course, what else am I going to do? It gets dark at 5, it's been raining almost every day, and she doesn't come home until I've already been home for 3 hours, so she has no idea. I hate this bull****. I don't WANT to go to a ****ing Ivy League, I just want to go to college and have fun. Does anyone else have the same attitude about high school?
I see the 'b word' is no longer filtered.

No, I don't feel the same. I enjoy school, although I do get bored in PreAP Chemistry and AP US History. I want to get the best education I can while in high school, then transfer that over to college, and then into my adult life.

I always take straight AP classes. Next year is senior year and I don't plan on slowing down to much. It's not about how many you need to graduate or anything else like that, it's about preparing yourself better than the next guy, thus giving you a better chance in college and then the "real world".

I don't see the point of going to a high school where everyone is stuck-up nerds or something of that sort. Sersiously what do the partys consist of? Playing games on calculators and balancing equations?

As long as i keep my 3.2+ GPA and can party and **** im fine.
