Why don't you go visit her?
Hope she gets well and can give us all a when she recovers. BTW, maybe ST could make a card for her and you deliver it for us Skitso. It'll make her feel better.

people live alot longer than 5 years, i know of people going well over 15, and by then things will be so advance that u can use one of those plastic hearts like that one guy had in TN last year.

My old english teacher had a heart transplant in his mid 20's, as part of a series of a bunch of other corrections and transplants. The heart he has now is from a 17 year old girl who had died in a car accident. He's in his late 30's now and is quite healthy but constantly needs check-ups and follow-ups to ensure continued health and success. He says the only long term adverse effect (for him atleast) is fatigue

Well my friend had leukemia this past year while he was in the hospital and my friends and I visited him many times. His cancer went into remission ( Went away for you people who don't know what that means ) and he was doing fine until some complications happened or something. I call him up a few days later after my last visit and hear him in the background sick. So his dad tells me that he is not feeling well and to call back later. That week, his mom called to tell me that he ended up in the ICU with hemorraging and paralysis throughout his body but his right arm and his face, where we visited him one last time until he died a few days later. I know how you feel and it sucks.... Hope she gets better
