Why is this thing so loud?

I just picked up my abomb the other day and it's really, really loud. Any tips on how to quiet this thing down? It's giving me a headache.

What barrel are you using?

I bet dropping your LPR pressure would take away some of the noise.

you just have to deal with it, your sig says you have a DM4? Not many guns are that quiet. I went from a cocker to a timmy and noticed it being significantly louder. The lower the LPR the lower the sound signature. Lower the LPR but you risk shootdown if you do it too much. This is one of the reasons I wanted to try a volumizer.

That might be it. I'm going from a DM4 to a timmy. I'm using a stiffi switch kit so that shouldn't be the problem. I'll try lowering the LPR later. Thanks guys.

I know what you mean. I went from timmy to a dm4 and back to a timmy, but I got used to the lack of recoil and low sound signature on the dm4. No big deal though, you get used to the sound pretty quick.

Dry fire tends to be louder, it also eats up gas.

With paint it shouldn't be as loud. Try dropping your LPR pressure a tad and you can also try using another barrel.

Dryfire is very loud, only fire with paint if you want a real reading.
Although it is not recomended I set my lpr on my 2k2 at 55psi and I am getting 260 258 263 over chrono and I hit 20 bps with no drop off.. Sounds a little louder than a dm4 but still shoots ropes.

I'll experiment with my LPR setting on sunday. My gun was so loud with paint that it was only a little louder on dry fire.
