In my experience with a vision eye Impulse and using other eyes including the sandridge eye, they mostly are junk. Air assist will help put paint into your breech whereas an eye will not. An air assist will use exhaust air instead of wasting addidtional battery power. Lastly, an air assist will still push a ball into the chamber sideways whereas an eye will do nothing of the sort.

Talking Hahahah

As long as it works right? =) Without the air assist what are you current settings El Pirata? After? I would say give the eye a chance, Jom has his Race set a little bit above 15bps if I remember correctly.

I can lay the gun on it's side with the feed tube parallel to the ground and still shoot the ball in the breech and the one on the feed tube without chopping. Drilling the holes in the feed tube took about 10 minutes then putting the inserts took another 10 minuts and waiting for the epoxy to dry took about 4 hours. The fittings I got from Pro Paintball for $5 each (just be ready for the $15 for shipping, it really blew my mind when I saw the damage on my credit card), the lp lineI had laying around the house as well as the nipples and the zip ties and the inserct were purchased at Lowes in the nut & bolt section under specialty washers. All in all it cost less than $30 for everything, including the $15 spent on Pro PB's shipping.

Unhappy Shipping

Yea Pro PB is quite a bit aways from UPS and they get charged some crazy amount. Ethan explained it to me when my Boxer was overnighted to me, $70.

I wondered who would be the first to try this. I had thought of doing it on my Sandy for awhile (the MAC exhausts are also threaded) but I decided against it, at least for now.

Why'd ya install the air jets in the region that the hopper neck will fill? That's what it looks like to me anyhow...

Peace.

The output of the air assist is about 1/4" lower in the feed neck than the bottom of the hopper neck. The reason the feed neck is not screwed on all the way is because I needed the additional space for the air assist outputs to come out. I used a ton of blue locktite to hold the feed neck in place.

Looking good, EP.

I've seen this gun in action, it rips.

I even frost burned my hand on the gas through while rapid firing....

It's finally healed, 2 weeks later.

If you rapidly discharge nitrogen, it'll freeze over to. Kinda interesting. Take an on/off valve and drain the cylinder and it freezes

I had been running CO2 when I found a major efficiency problem but now I am packing an 88 (stub tank) /4500 max flow. When DR shot it I was running a 68CI CO2 tank that was prone to freezing.

I was using the screw in max flow off my Impulse with a gas through. Probably fired 5000 shots without any proglems, aside for a god awful weight of the CO2.
