Welp here I am again with another downtime thread. FEH!

Same deal, the database server is giving us problems. The search has been down since the last downtime but should be up tonight.

So the raid controller went out on the master database server. Hopefully this was the complete cause of the recent crashes and will be resolved now that our host has replaced the hardware. If it doesn't then we'll still figure it out.

Unfortunately our db servers only run in raid 1. Our activity is not all THAT I/O intensive, and our hosts cost for 0+1 or 5, or raid 10 is pretty expensive.

Would be nice to run dual disks with dual controllers.
