rt trigger question

I have a Tippmann model 98 with a double trigger. I wanna know if I can put a Response Trigger on my gun with the double trigger.

From what I remember, you can but it won't really give you any extra performance.

Is it a M98, or 98 Custom? The M98 needs some body work before it'll accept an RT kit. The RT will work fine with a double trigger though (and it'll give you a lot of non-tournament legal extra performance if you set it up right)

Here's an honest question.

If a R/T works by finding the sweet spot and holding it down, why would you need a double trigger? On my 98 Custom with R/T, if I hold it right I get my 10-13 rps without a double trigger. It seems like the only real use for both a double trigger AND an R/T would be if you wanted to play tourney ball and non-tourney ball.

"tourney ball" and "non tourney ball"??? rt isn't allowed at tournement play because of the "assistance" it gives you. and single finger trigger vs double is just preference. I rock a hinge on my cocker vs a slider because I like using 2 fingers (hmm... that sounded dirty.. )

RT = generally tourny illegal

doublet trigger = tourny legal

Both = still tourny illegal, 99% OK on normal fields

still... damn..

Dude, the rt is not at all tourney legal. Some fields don't even let you use it.

Most fields let me use mine when I had it

And NPPL and major tournies... yeah I know you can't use it there. But for small local ones I've seen them used =P

yes you dont need a double trigger but it helps in most ways to help find the sweet spot. if you like it without the double go for it its how you play.

Like Psycho Acumen its not allowed in major tourney events, but the local fields and local tourneys sometimes allow you to use them. The fields here allow me to use my R/T tippy and a few local tourneys.

O.K.
A RT is a small air ram solonoid behind the trigger. When the gun fires it "pops" the triggerforward resetting it. But you are already pulling it back it will fire another shot. In this way you can "ride" the trigger acheaving full auto performance.

It like this, when you pull the trigger swiftly all the way back the gun will fire once but if you pull it slowly back. somewhere in the middle of your pull is the "sweet spot" that will cause your gun to keep firing "full auto"until you release it or complete the pull.

It is not tourny legal. And yes it is easy to tune - it should take less than ~10 minutes and ~200 balls (if you like shooting a lot)
