they are both amazing markers with their ups and downs, but IMO nothing beats a spool valve. Zero recoil is an amazing feelin when ur rippin 17 bps. but for the $ if i had to choose, sonic to dm5, id go dm5=cheaper, and cyborg to dm5, id probably cheap out and go dm4/pm5
Your obviosly a DM fan, and would pick DM even though Cyborg is better(opinion(mine) so

and we already got someone here tradeing a DM5 for a borg

I think they feel like toys and i hate things like that.

All opinions!

accuracy is paint to bore, no longer is one gun more accurate than another cept some really bad guns...

accuracy or trajectory can also be attributed to a good bolt and reg.... yes paint to bore is important, but if you want your ball flying to the same spot multiple times your gonna have to have very good regulated air pressures and a bolt that puts it around the ball consistantly and accurately...

Actually, paint/barrel match doesn't have a huge effect on accuracy, though it does on barrel breaks and efficiency.

As for your DM5 leaking out of the box... yeah... no other companies ever have problems with bad batches of o-rings ::cough:: MacDev Gladiators ::cough:: It happens and is more often out of the hands of the manufacturer. I'm sure if they knew your gun would leak, they wouldn't have sent it out.

....i was jus stating what happened to my brothers DM5 no big deal... and also the macdev gladiator issue was a problem with the retainer, and yes although the orings were faulty this was not the factorys fault... The oring in my bros dm5 was ripped, obviously from carelesness looks like it was jus shoved in the gun... but yeh i guess they dont air up the guns before they send them out... easy fix.

and paint to barrel match does have alot to do with accuracy... it has to do with consistency. a good barrel bore match keeps the ball coming out at better more predictable FPS, and also allows there to be less wasted air.

but hey this about the borg vs. the dm5.... i picked a borg he picked the dm5 ....his leaked mine did not...that was my point...

I have a dm4 and a borg. I switch around between the two markers but I always seem to come back to the DM4 when I am playing a tourney or some key game. I just seem to be able to hit things with it

I tried to figure it out recently and I think its the fact that the spool valve has a very balanced movement when it fires and this really seems to allow me to hold onto a target better and place ball on ball far easier. While I think the borg is really solid, I still notice a different action of the marker that makes me come off the target and reposition slightly between each shot.

This is JMHO and you should try both, either marker a is pretty good choice.

^^many people say that about spool valves i have noticed...it is almost like you love it or it is just so so for you....i for one dont like the way a dm4/5 feels because they fell big and clunky....and i like being able to take a gun apart easily
