Question

I have a Tippman 98 Custom, and I want to get a better barrel, while staying within a reasonable budget (under $65 US)...What is a good decision? I'm contemplating the Dye Xcel, J&J Ceramic, and the 32 Degrees Terminator, but I'm open to any suggestions

i would go with a lapco bigshot, its only 50 bucks and its accurate, a lot of people use the bigshot i havent heard any complaints yet.

All american 12 inch medium bore. This is the best barerl you can get for the 98. It is by far the quietest, and most accurate. I have seen a ton of barrels on model 98's and this is the quietest and about the same accuracy as all other barrels. Dye's are very loud, and so are less ported barrels. I know it is out of your price range, but the all american is about 30 more. YOu should consider.

You could go with the Smart Parts Progressive barrel... its just like the tear drop, but a lot cheaper... Country Paintball has it for $43 for the M98... http://www.countypaintball.com/produ....asp?item=1160

888 paintball has it for $45.88 they charge $5 shipping http://www.888paintball.com/product_...DSTP+M98+12+BK

Xpaintball.com has it for 39.77... but they charge $10 shipping...
http://www.xpaintball.com/spprogat.html

Preditor Paintball has them for $29.99... but they charge $5 for handling... and then Shipping on top...

Hope I helped a little...

Yeah, I own it... I just got it and tried it out.. I really like it! Its pretty quiet, and very VERY accurate. I didnt have a ball curve at all out of almost 100 rounds of shooting at a 4" wide post from about 100ft away. It shot really straight. Im very impressed with this barrel, and I think I would get this barrel no matter which type of gun I had. I really recommend this barrel! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Go with a CP barrel. 49.95 at http://www.paintballgear.net and they are very good barrels. It's the poor mans boomstick. http://www.actionvillage.com/cusprod12inb8.html

Thumbs up

My brother in-law bout a M98 throw me but never paid for it. So I repOed it, by then he had put a 16” CP barrel on it. I must say its vary accrete. As just, if no more, accrete than my $1300 Defiant.

I run a CP on my Mag and I run one on my Matrix....AWESOME barrels for the price.

Lapco's are great barrels too. I don't much care for SP stuff..so I refuse to recommend a Boss or All American...

I love Dye barrels too..but those are pricey.

For under 65...CP, Lapco, J&J Ceramic...in that order.

i have heard many bad things about the flatline...such as it has horrible short distance accuracy, uses too much air, etc...anyone else have any input on the flatline?
