heavy distortion... power chord... power chord... insert chromatic shred here. Wait throw some pinch harmonics and you're set.

Rusty Cooley owns.

**vid** (sorry, it's Real Media)

Picks every single note. Not one slurred note. Before anyone complains with something like "OMG SCALES!", it's an instructional video, so he's suppose to be playing scales.

Yes, but you'll also notice that he does the same hyper-fast sweep/speed picking stuff for everything.

Sorry man, but you're wrong. Steve Vai is better than Satriani. And, Vai owns Wylde.

You guys should check out Cacophony. There's two kickass guitarists.

Steve Vai may be technically better than Satch, but If I had the choice of buying a Vai album or a Satch album, then listen to the whole thing, I would definately buy the Satch album.

Yes, Jason Becker and Marty Friedman are really good.

Alex Skolnik (sp?) from Testament is an awesome guitar player too. He has some real fast riffs, then some that may not be real fast, but still sound great. I reccomend downloading "musical death". Has alittle bit of everything in it.

I also gained alot more respect for Jimmy Page when I watched a friends zepplin DVD

If by "everything" you mean all of his demonstrations on chopsfromhell, then yes, he does alternate-pick everything. His unusually fast and controlled picking is his most unique ability, and that's what he's chosen so showcase. Look at it the same way as Wylde's artificial ("pinch") harmonics, Eddie's tapping, and Yngwie's sweeping.

If by "everything" you mean everything he plays, well, then you haven't heard much of Rusty's music.

<3 for teh bucket was on page 1. Not many people like him, though.

As far as the Vai vs Satch dispute, I actually agree with the Satch-lovers. I vote for Vai because I based my decision on who I thought was the most overall skilled as a player. If I were to decide based on who I'd rather listen to, Satriani would take it. Vai is an absolutely amazing (and innovative) player, but most of his music isn't very fun to listen to unless you're specifically wanting to hear someone rip a guitar to pieces. You can have Hendrix playing only one or two notes a second (squeezing every last drop of emotion out), and then Malmsteen playing 32897424 notes a second, and 9 people out of 10 will prefer what Hendrix is playing.

I'm surprised nobody has brought up Paul Gilbert yet.
