torpedo reg

Hey, this is Danielle Capt. of Lady Osiris. We all run the torpedos and they work really well. Hope that helps.

I'm in love with either Palmer's Fatty or AKA's Sidewinder or 2-Liter. My current Osiris has a Sidewinder and get +/- 1fps on the chrono. I will do some dynamic testing in full auto when I get hold of a more advanced chrono.

i do kinda want to run this off of a tank with a high pressure output but the bob long torpedo reg says that it cannot do that. if i really have to, i will get the low pressure output tank but i want the high so i can use it with more guns.

I remember that the Torpedo might have a problem if it has a gauge installed. Else, it might be a bit out of spec, but apparently Lady Osiris is using it with no problem. You will have to adjust it to 225psi, though. I don't know how are you planing to do it. The best way is to make a HPR pressure tester, you'll need:
1 x ASA adaptor or duckbill.
1 x Pressure gauge. Buy one at a tools shop or hardware store. The mini's of paintball are very imprecise.
1 x On/Off valve 1/8 NPT or better yet a 1/8 NPT Bleeder Vavle.
1 x 1/8 NPT "T" connector. Al female.
1 or 2 x 1/8 NPT male-male connector. It depends if your valve has a male or female connector. If it has a male, then you need just 1, else 2.

Now, use blue loctite on the male-male connector (one drop per thread at a time) and connect the ASA to one side of the T. Then connect the gauge to the other side. And at las connect the valve to the center. Let the loctite seal for 24hs. Presto!
How do you use it? Be sure the valve is closed. Screw the regulator to the lowest pressure. Screw the regulator into the ASA adaptor. Pressure up the regulator. Adjust pressure as desired. Close the gas to the regulator. Use the valve to purge the system. Unscrew the regulator from the ASA. Please note that usually when you unscrew the regulator's pressure is zero. This is good since you should always set the regulators pressure by upping the pressure and now by lowering it.
Alternatively, if you want to have many pressure ranges, buy a 1/8 NPT QuickDisconnect set. Put the female the gauge and the male in the T. Now if you want more pressure ranges, just buy more QD females and swap them depending on regulator. Is very useful if you have a high pressure marker (1000psi gauge), a medium pressure (750psi or 600psi gauge) and a low pressure marker (300psi).

O yeah!
Like this one?

It works great. In fact it can accept inputs of upto 1500psi. And it isn't damaged until 3000psi. It's one of if not the fastest regulator. And only the AKA's 2-Liter is as consistent. It's even cheap, compared to the Stab. But I might be a bit biased :-)

I've recieved a special Sanchez Machine SM-1 one piece. Regrettalby it's kind of small bore, and so around here I only get big bore (more accuratly, swollen to big bore) pellets. So I went out and bought a Boomstick. I'm now using a Sanchez Machine SM-2 with 7 inserts. It's amazingly accurate and of such a quality manufacturing that you can only find in Lapco or Carter products. Of course Carter nor Colin would ever use left handed threads on their barrels. But beyond it's weirdnesses, it's a much better barrel system than the Freak for the same price. I guess they spend on quality wht SP spends on marketing. So let's the silly spend their money on inferior products while thos who actually test them (and who are not payed to use them) buy quality stuff. If you ever buy a barrel kit, don't go out of Sanchez Machine (SM-1,2 or 3, not the G1), Lapco (either SnapShot or Accushot) or Powerlyte Specter. Avoid those with "sizing bores", and look for the longest inserts. All that I've named have at least one inch more than a Freack insert. In the Accushot case, you get three whole barrels.

You'll leave the stock valve there, right? Don't forget the valve. And don't buy anything, just use the stock. I've put the most sofisticated and expensive valves out there (like the AKA's Tornado) and haven't got any improvements. If you want buy a springs kit. It might improve your efficiency. By requiring lower ram pressure. But you'll lose speed. Or you could put a stiffer spring, thus requiring higher pressure, which might improve your speed a little. But I don't think you can improveit too much since at 36bps the domiating time is first the hopper, then the bolt movement, then the ram solenoid and last the ram speed.
I know that the whole Osiris comes with a SM-1 one piece. I don't know about the kit. You should ask Leon.

i tried to ask him through pms, but it said that he chose not to. *shrug*

sorry i forgot the valve, i was going with a shocktech. leon said earlier in this thread that i needed the "body, back block, pumparm, bolt, valve installed and a low pressure Reg we do /supply the rest" the only thing i have not decided is the bolt. which bolt should i get?

*edit* do not want to spend more the 30 on the bolt

The bolt is simple, the lightest all delrin bolt you can find. That's all. I tried an Orracle bolt and it had too much mass. So go search around for a nice all delrin or delron bolt.

Are you getting everything from separate sources? because the shocktech valve is unnecessary. The stock WGP valve is very nice. ditto for the pump arm..If you already have a mechanical 03 VF, just slap the fatty and delrin bolt. Nothing else. The Halo B and the tank are ok.
But if you look at it. Leon said he needed a LPR, and the Fatty is a HPR. So you either have to add a LPR, or live with the Torpedo and add a Micro Rock. Or better yet, an AKA SCM, that are on sale at mad cocker. Since the SCM 2.0 is out now, they are selling their remaining SCM for 60% of their price.
