torrid X or evo

im really stuck here. i have been wanting to get a new mid rance marker for the longest time now. im stuck between a torrid x or an evo. personally i think the torrid x looks better than the evo and has more colors to choose from. but i want the type of service that PMI has which odyssey lacks. can anyone please help me? if i get a torrid x will it be okay stock? or will i have to put tons of $ in it just to play. keep in mind im just a rec player that wants a reliable gun, but i do like to tinker

Its the new version of the TES.

The whole Dragun/Oddesey line generally has more reliability issues. I'm pretty sure they are still using a reflective eye instead of breakbeam eyes too.

Torid X by Odyssey

Hmmmm, maybe you should do what I did and get both !

I recommend knowing what features your looking for and which one offers all or most of those features. Are you a semi only (EVO) kind of player or do you want multi modes (Torid X)? Will a reflective eye (Torid X) be okay for you or do you want a break beam eye (EVO)? Etc., etc.........

Consider any upgrades you may want to add. How much will they cost you and how easy will it be to install them. If you want to change the drop forward, airline, and/or regulator on the EVO then it just requires that specific part. On the Torid X you have to change out all three to change one.

Consider the company your buying from and how much support they are going to be able to give you if you have a problem. PMI is going to be very hard to equal/beat here and the EVO is their flagship marker. Odyssey SEEMS to be having a little trouble getting their act together recently and may be focusing more on their 02, 03, 05 line of markers.

Just my 2 pennies. Good luck whichever way you go.

Well Torrid is basically a TES B or some what... so if u gonna run on co2 definatally get the EVO... Only upgrades ud really need for Evo would be a feedneck maybe cuz the EVo feedneck kinda cones... but its 20$ and u wont lose ur hopper... and maybe a CP Reg if your velocity makes u made but not required...

Torrid x and evo are both blowbacks with eyes and will basically perform the same on co2 or hpa.

I'd say the Evo is the obvious choice. Beambreak eyes are always better, and it's covered by PMI for a year. It's also cheaper, I paid $200 for mine brand new at an overpriced local shop.

Most local stores sell the EVO for $299. Most online stores sell the EVO for $249. If you got one brand new at a store for $200 then either they are having a going out of business sale, or they were insane when they were putting price tags on. Either way you got a great deal!!

The fact is that Spyders are more popular at local shops so the Piranha's don't sell as well. So after some time the price them to move.

You can sometimes find Evos on Ebay for around $200-230 or so also.
