Chopping balls with a Rebel???
Well, I plan on purchasing a Rebel for my first marker. It sounds like avery reliable gun for the price, however I do hear that it chops balls. Im not up with the terminology so could someone please explain it to me, and how to help prevent it?
Thanks in advance

MY first marker was a rebel extreme, though sometimes I wish I had bought a standard rebel and bought upgrades to it...anyways, I have barely chopped any balls on mine, but I have. Chopping balls is when the bolt hits the ball before fully getting in the right position thus exploding the ball in the chamber before reaching the barrel, so it "chops" the ball it's pretty annoying to clean the mess it leaves but has happened to me just under this circumstances:
Under fast fire using a gravitiy loader while hitting it > they wouldn't feed on time or properly so the ball was chopped.
Under fast fire using a 12v revy off > same as before.
Using bad paint > it didn't stand the pressure, it was in bad shape. Gave barrel breaks as well.
A friend who liked my rebel bought one in black, he hasn't chopped but he doesn't shoot fast. He has outshoot his gravitiy loader just a couple of times, they just get stuck so you have to hit it.
Some people might confuse choping balls with ball breaks. That has nothing to do with the marker, it's the barrel and the type of ball u use. Good paint barely breaks on a good barrel matching the size properly.
Hope this helps.

The last entry was correct in assuming that is was because of the loader that was causing the chopped balls. The best way to fix this is to buy a revolution or one of the other agitation loaders. That is the easiest way to fix the problem.

BTW: about getting the rebel, I don't know what have you decided but from my point of view (I have a rebel X btw)
-Rebel with out bottomline
-X-core Psychoballistics Xchamber
-Psycho ballistics Drop forward
-Macroline kit.
later you can buy a Bob Long Delring Bolt.
you can find that stuff at countypaintball.com, top customer service I always buy my stuff there....
now, if you can put your hands in one of those new rebels with .45 frame it's better 'cuz you can buy dye stickies or the 32* grips (same as stickies I think)
The reason I don't really recommend a Rebel X, it's becuase looks should be second, and I though the Rebel X came with an xchamber (but it's not, just a gas through grip) and the Drop Forward from factory (too short), the bypass system (they call it"regulator" but it's not) is a nice thing but it's not bigdeal.
With the other stuff your rebel will work better than any stock rebel at a lower price.
Cheers

rebel chopping
reasons for chopping in a rebel:
1 - you are firing too fast with a rebel. rebels arent made for fast firing. angels and autocockers would best suit you.
2 - the paint only made it halfway into the chamber by the time you pulled the trigger. get an impulse, this gun uses laser devices to disallow firing without a paintball entirely in the chamber. impulse "vision" is the name of the gun, it will never chop paint. guarranteed.
3 - another reason would be your hopper not keeping up with the gun at the rate of feed. get a revolution or ricochet hopper. they force feed paint into the gun using spinny parts in the hopper powered by a laser to make sure that paint is always where it is needed.
4 - another reason is bad paint. this problem shouldnt exist because this paint should never be put in the gun or hopper in the first place. always check your paint first! make sure it isnt discolored = weak in that area, bulging on any part of the surface or dented, or already broken.

Rebels? naw dont even waste your time please.
Yep I've had many bad experiences with rebels, very poorly made cheap guns (LOL). Anyway, A spyder is much more reliable and respectable than a Rebel, yep no doubt. I'd even go to say that a lot of brass eagle semis are more reliable than most Rebels, Yep, no doubt about that. Rebels are spyder knock offs, uninspired and unoriginal. Oh did i mention they suck yet?
<---- Yep, instead of smashing that PC he should be smashing a rebel marker.

I think it all depends on how you use and abuse the marker, wether you clean it properly or not. It also depends on what parts/upgrades you have on the gun....that's just my 2cence

wrong, wrong, wrong. Both different rebels out of the box had many problems. No abuse involved.

I agree that there were problems, mine were minor, but they did kinda annoy me...*such as a horrible cup seal and some bad orings*... but i've fixed my problems and the gun is working good now....

Oh whatever... do you know how it feels to have a gun replaced by 32 degrees and later found out that exact gun (Rebel LE) wasnt on the market for too long because they made the vertical feed too small. That's just ridiculous. Balls get stuck in the vert feed. Lame.

Although I don't have too much experience with a ll of these guns, i believe most blow-backs are teh same or similar. Namely Piranha, Spyder, and Rebels.

Watch out, your in their territory; they might just form a mob and hunt your sorry little sign-in name down. Lol theat would be the day.
I like: (1) ACI - F4 (2) PMI - Piranhas (3) M3 - Black Dragun (4) Kingman - Spyder (5) 32* - Rebel not the Silver Mullet or the "ICON" bleh.
Well there's quite a tie between the ACI and the PMI
