The xtra is a good choice, it is just like ford/chevy anyways. Look for the gun with the features you like best and don't look back. Whatever you do, don't skimp on the mask!!

Vote for Xtra here. They operate quite nicely, I have to admit, for the price. The only thing you have to worry about is that damn trigger... too long. You can fix that though. take it to a local shop to get a trigger job, tinker with it yourself, or ask someone how to do it.

The Xtra isn't a bad choice. But, if you want a marker that is extremely rugged and easy to maintain, I say get a Tippmann 98 Custom. Some people don''t like the look or feel of the Tippmann. That is just personal preference. You should try out different markers, if possible, and weigh the pros and cons.

As far as masks go, I love the V-Force Shield. IMO it's an all-around great mask.

My personal choice would be a pirhana, I personally like them the best because they are reliable and they have a nice trigger, otherwise i would suggest a M 98.

keep in mind its probably his first gun, maybe he's stepping up from a brass eagle, but i doubt he has a nitro tank already for those guns. That alone takes around half of that 300 up.

Nah, pirahnas are just spyders that look a little better. I would recommend saving up and getting a more expensive gun. You will be more happy with it in the future.
