my upgrading

Well, i have had my BD for a little while now, about 2 weeks to be exact, and i havn't even played with it yet. Here are my ideas for upgrading it, and i would like some info on what are good and bad choices.

1)Stainless Freakback with green AA 12" front
2)Palmer Reg
3)Duralin or some sort of self lubeing bolt, i heard someone came out with one that doesn't swell in the heat or cold
4)Green ricochet(if you can't tell, i am going with chrome and green color setup)
5)Aluminum Trigger
6)Some sort of new drop forward, don't like the angle the stock one has

any comments or feedback would be nice!

I'm only going to comment about stuff I know

Duralin=Delrin? Or some sort of variant perhaps?
My top choice is currently the NBolt from SwanCreek. It is made extremely well and is super high-flowing.

Although I don't know about palmers I've heard about them. From what I've read, it seems that the Glad, AA Vigilante, the new bob long torpedo reg, or the sidewinder would all do fine.

As for the freak, I think you ought to take a look at the EquationUSA multiswitch pro barrel system. It is much more customizable than the freak. Is just as accurate. Has just as many inserts, but made out of stainless steel rather than aluminum. Look absolutely gorgeous!

Good luck with the upgrading!

I think the concensus on the trigger is pretty clear- Check It Products Black Dragun Sweet Spot Trigger. If you have an E-2, you should had no trouble installing the Check It trigger either

Abra,

Regarding the Sweet Spot Triggers on the E-2..

Cohiba wrote:

"P.S. Just as a little token of peace, I am also here to give you some good news. Turns out the only reason the CheckIt trigger wouldn't work in my friend's E-2 is cause he's a nincompoop! I installed it and it worked fine! I watched him do it the first time, and it seemed like he did the right things, but evidently not! When I did it, it worked fine! Thank goodness for my "craftsmanship" and "years of experience"! (now we're even, abra... )"

In any case. If you guys have a problem with the trigger installing
on any for of Black Dragun, please do not hesitate to email or call
us. We will at no charge install the trigger for you minus the shipping back.

Hope that helps

the trigger comes with a set screw that you use to adjust the trigger with (ie. increase decrease the length of the stroke)

They work really well I've had mine for a week or so and i makes a huge difference. I now am out shooting my 9 volt revy and my CO2 is freezing so bad ice comes out. Although the gun is still capable of the speed it had before, you just reach top speed quickly and consistantly. Also put some blue loctite in the set screw when you find a good length for your taste. If your not sure what blue loctite is, it is the removable kind.

That pic does look sweet. Almost makes me wish I tried one of the blue triggers...

On the loctite, my tubes have numbers on them, if that helps: they are Loctite 242 (blue) and Loctite 271 (red).

monkey31, if you are sticking with CO2, the Palmer is an excellent choice. If you are going to HPA (which I highly recommend), then there are several cheaper options (see abra's post) that are at least as good.

Excellent choice on the ricochet, and I would also recommend the Swan Creek N-Bolt.

Good Luck!

Honestly I'm not sure those cheaper regs are as good. I dont' have data on most of them But the majority of the cheaper regs are direct copies of the AIR valve reg... that begins to show dropoff at 10 bps. The stab is still at 90% recharge at 20 bps.
