Seperating a 2 piece barrel

what i want to do is seperate my 16 inch all american barrel for my shocker and make it to about 13 inches. i need to know how i would go about doing this and how i would seperate the 2 differnt pieces of the barrel so i can cut it.

here is how I did mine
1) heat barrel (propane torch)at the union untill it is hot an twist and pull apart. smoke is normal.
2)cut barrel tip at length with tubing cutter, smoth inside edge. I nade a few practice cuts further up first.
3)cut 2 grove rings around tip where it slides into base for epoxy to bond to.
4)If port holes are now in base I pushed the barrel through a bar of soap and filled port hole with soap to keep epoxy out of inside of barrel.for all holes that go into base
5) spread epoxy around groves in tip
6)put tip in base and alow to dry tip down so epoxy dosent run inside barrel.

Thats what I did worked fine for me on my boomstick hope it helps you
