Help with borrowed gun?(Eforce GTI)

So I'm borrowing an E-Force GTI for a game tomorrow, and it's not working right.

It's got a full charge, full(grav feed) hopper and a fresh CO2 bottle- Now when I turn it on, I should just get semi-auto, right? In order to fire at all I have to pull the bolt back, and it fires once, then just clicks at me.

If I select any of the other firing modes, I have to pull the bolt back to get it to fire, then it only fires once and then clicks.

Am I not selecting something right? He's gone for the weekend so I can't ask him, so I'm asking you guys.

TIA.

EDIT- And I checked the FAQs and can't find anything about it clicking but not firing...

No, the bolt only fires if I pull it back, fires once then doesn't move, the gun just clicks.

Would it do this if I didn't cock it before airing it up? I looked at a manual online and it says to cock before airing, which I didn't do.

And in the process of reconnecting the air(to do it right), the bottle seal broke and I can't get another until the morning.

*bangs head on wall*

So if that sound right, just let me know. Once I get a new bottle seal, I'll 'reboot' the gun the right way and let ya know if it doesn't work then.

And I may be buying this gun from the kid, so I'd REALLY like to make it work

If u have a reg on it, try upping the PSI

sometimes 2 strong of a spring can give you chopping and recocking problems

and 2 weak of a spring can give u cocking problems.

Well, this thing is bone stock, and the kid was shooting it a few days ago, so I have the real heavy feeling that I'm doing something wrong, rather than the gun being screwy.

re

check to see if the gun c02 or the drop has and on/off vavle.the problem you have is that the air pressure is two low to shot the bolt back.what might have happend the first time is the cup seal was not closed all they way because you air it up with out cocking the marker.pcik up a few tank o-rings and when you gas the marker up cock the bolt first then ad air.then place your ear with the safty on so the marker does not shoot.put your ear next to the body near the barrel an listen for any small air leaks.if you do hear a leak put a few drops of pmi oil in the asa with the barrel off and dry fire the marker.the pnly other problem that it could be is you may have put the bolt in upside down.
